This stuff has to be coming from Bernie Sanders, right?

Another video has “surfaced” showing Michael Bloomberg making some rather non-woke comments. Last week, video of him making generalizations about minorities made the rounds. Over the weekend, a video of him trashing farmers as lacking “grey matter” also dropped. Now, there’s another clip of Bloomberg discussing transgender issues and none of it is left-wing approved.

A newly uncovered video shows Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg in 2019 describing transgender people as an “he, she, or it” and “some guy in a dress” who enters girls’ locker rooms — invoking a conservative cliché as he argued that transgender rights are toxic for presidential candidates trying to reach middle America.

I guess it shows how nuts we’ve gone that a guy that it’s controversial to worry about a biological man being in a girls’ locker room (and that’s certainly not just a “cliche,” as there have been numerous cases of such). Bloomberg is obviously breaking the rules of political correctness here, but there’s a certain tinge of honesty in his concerns that’s not common these days.

And to be fair, in context, Bloomberg wasn’t targeting all transgenders. He was specifically dealing with the very specific subject of girls’ locker rooms.

“If your conversation during a presidential election is about some guy wearing a dress and whether he, she, or it can go to the locker room with their daughter, that’s not a winning formula for most people,” he said.

My general read is that none of this stuff matters very much. While the woke wing of the Democratic party are certainly the loudest and most culturally powerful, a good portion of liberals think much of the transgender lobby has gone too far. It’s one thing to choose one’s own way in life. It’s another to demand everyone else reinforce someone’s delusions while also demanding accommodations that step on the rights of others.

Heck, this might even make Bloomberg more relatable. We’ll have to wait and see, as he doesn’t appear on a ballot until Super Tuesday. All of this certainly does smack of Bernie Sanders getting a little desperate to seal the deal. He’s in a great position, but perhaps 2016 is still in the back of his mind. Bernie’s fans are ruthless and they are going to go after anyone who gets in their way. Right now that’s Bloomberg, but they aren’t choosy about their targets. Things are going to get wild as the summer approaches.
