Biden Loses Battle With the Teleprompter Trying to Hit DeSantis at the White House Correspondents' Dinner

There’s a lot to cover from Saturday evening’s annual nerd prom, otherwise known as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Rest assured, we’ll cover it all in various articles, but the night is best-enjoyed bite by bite.

With that said, at some point, Joe Biden took the stage to give the crowd what they all came for. Specifically, a bad president reading bad jokes with all the skill and precision of a budget barber. In other words, Biden is the bowl cut of comedians.

Case in point? This battle in Biden’s ongoing war with his teleprompter where he suggests that Mickey Mouse beat the hell out of him for some reason.

Here’s an exact transcript of what is said in the video for posterity’s sake.

And Ron DeSantis, I had a lot of Ran DeSantis, Ron DeSantis jokes ready.

(Long Pause)

But Bickey Mous, Mickey Mouse beat the hell out of me and got there first. Now look, can’t be rough on the guy. After his relection as governor, he was asked if he (Pause) had a mandate. Said “hell no, I’m straight.” I’ll give you time to think that one through (pause) you got it?

Let’s look on the bright side. Perhaps this is progress because I can at least somewhat interpret what Biden was trying to say. I suppose he meant to say that Disney “beat me to the punch,” but hey, who’s keeping track of whether the president is sentient enough to read an incredibly weak joke properly?

As to the “mandate” thing, a comment that would be called homophobic if a Republican told it, I don’t even know what to say about it. It’s so stupid that it simply offers its own critique.

Ask yourself what was worse in that clip. Watching Biden stumble over a basic turn of phrase to deliver a “joke” my eight-year-old would cringe at or seeing the press laugh and clap like seals in response as if he’d just delivered an absolute banger? I think most would go with the latter. The national press is the most pathetic institution in existence outside of the executive branch itself.

Regardless, we already know who got the last laugh in the battle between Disney and DeSantis. Mickey Mouse has already lost nearly half its stock price in the last two years. Mickey Mouse also bent the knee on political activism at the state level, losing the fight over the Parental Rights in Education Law and its subsequent expansion through K-12 grade levels. Disney didn’t even bother to publicly oppose the latter.

Someone lost here, and it wasn’t Ron DeSantis, no matter what happens with the lawsuit over the new Reedy Creek board. But let the out-of-touch Beltway apparatchiks have their fun, I suppose. Back in the real world, Biden just hit his lowest approval rating ever, and the favorability of the national press rates somewhere around colon cancer. While they yuck up and cosplay as celebrities, we are all laughing at them.
