As Redstate reported, an illegal immigrant from India killed three motorists in Florida after making an illegal U-turn. Harjinder Singh, who is of Sikh origin, was captured by an in-cab dashcam swinging his 18-wheeler across all lanes of traffic while trying to use an "official use only" turnaround. A minivan was unable to stop and ended up careening into and under the trailer at high speed, ripping the vehicle to shreds and killing the three occupants, two of them instantly.

In the aftermath, Singh appeared to show no concern or remorse, and Florida authorities immediately began to investigate his background. As it turns out, he entered the country illegally in 2018 and was eventually given a commercial driver's license (CDL) under Gov. Gavin Newsom's (D-CA) policy of giving illegal immigrants licenses. Singh fled back to California after the accident and is now facing manslaughter charges back in Florida, assuming Newsom and company don't actively block his extradition (which isn't a sure bet).
Now, more information is emerging about just how unqualified the illegal immigrant was to hold the CDL he had. According to the Department of Transportation, Singh flunked an English language proficiency assessment, answering only two of a dozen verbal questions correctly. He could also only identify one of four highway traffic signs he was shown.
Holy crap.

So Washington (that's a new development) and California issued a CDL to an illegal immigrant who couldn't speak English and knew next to nothing about American traffic laws. That's just astonishing, and it's a testament to how insane things have become in blue states across the country in the name of "social justice."
Newsom has tried to pass the buck, claiming that it was the Trump administration that enabled Singh. That turned out to be a complete lie.
False. Harjinder Singh is in the United States illegally and his work authorization was rejected under the Trump Administration on September 14, 2020. It was later approved under the Biden Administration June 9, 2021.

The state of California issues Commercial Drivers Licenses.… https://t.co/4YSs3qIj2B
As bad as sanctuary policies are on their own, actively choosing to give an unqualified illegal immigrant a CDL is next-level negligence. Three people are dead so that left-wingers could virtue signal, and that's unconscionable. It demands some kind of accountability. What that would look like, I'm not knowledgeable enough to say, but given interstate commerce is involved, the Trump administration should look seriously at what power they have to stop these blue states from handing out licenses to illegal immigrants, especially those to drive 60,000-pound hunks of metal.
