Legal Texas Gun Owners Have a Lower Murder Rate than Britain

Texans are proving that an armed society is indeed a nice society as reports have surfaced showing that the murder rate among Texans who carry is even lower than gun-free Great Britain.

Adam Peters of the Western Free Press first noticed the numbers when he took a look at a 2016 report published by the State of Texas regarding legal gun owners and the crimes they commit:

Over a million people in Texas are licensed to carry a firearm, and the state publishes a report on the crimes they commit. In 2016, two were convicted of murder and another two were convicted of manslaughter. If they formed their own country, its per capita homicide rate would be about 0.4 per 100,000 residents.

Now let’s compare that to the 2016 homicide rate in the UK which has banned guns within the country. According to the stats from the Office of National Statistics, Britain has a .99 homicide rate per 100,000.

In short, Texas’s legal and trained gun owning population is statistically safer than Britain’s gun-free population. You have a higher chance of survival at a Texas gun show than you would on a British street.

That doesn’t say much for the gun control advocates who believe, like Biden, that no one should own semi-autos.

Which brings us to a solid point to consider. Not only are armed Texans less likely to commit murder, but they are also more likely to prevent it. We need look no further than the recent murder spree in Sutherland Springs, Texas, being stopped by former NRA instructor Stephen Willeford who carried his own gun.

Further evidence that guns help prevent murder more than they help commit it is the fact that 98 percent of mass shootings have occurred in gun-free zones since the 1950’s.
