In the midst of all the violence being engaged in by the left, members of the right have been calling for someone from within the Democratic party to speak out against the mob tactics being encouraged by Democrats.
The latest encouragement came from none other than Hillary Clinton herself, who said that it’s impossible to be civil with Republicans and that the left shouldn’t be civil with them until they get power back in the House and Senate.
At a time when shootings, mob confrontations, and Antifa are a thing, it’s incredibly irresponsible for Democrats to say these kinds of things, as any encouragement to be anything but civil could result, as Rand Paul recently suggested, in someone getting hurt or worse, killed.
At least one Democrat has decided to speak out against Clinton. According to The Hill, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) said she was not at all on board with being uncivil with Republicans, and that Clinton’s suggestion is “ridiculous.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Heitkamp said on “Anderson Cooper 360.” “I mean I can’t imagine how you get anything done if you don’t bring civility back into politics, and that goes for both sides.”
Heitkamp went on to add that she hopes “we can find common ground in this country — that sexual assault is more prevalent than what people thought it was.”
Heitkamp should be joined by a cadre of Democrats, but sadly she’s not. The only other Democrat to denounce any kind of mob tactics being used against Republicans was the Democratic challenger to Ted Cruz, Beto O’Rourke. While this is all well and good, O’Rourke is not an established leader.
Meanwhile, people like Cory Booker and Maxine Waters are on record encouraging mob tactics, while the leftist media are attempting to shut anyone down who even attempts to use the word “mob” to describe what the left is doing.
One thing is for sure. Somebody will come to real harm at this rate, and more Democrats should be calling it out.
