Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Says Her “Green New Deal” Is Just an Avenue for Social Justice Agendas Because Why Not?
The gift that keeps on giving that is future New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has once again sat down in front of a camera and once again delivered pure asinine gold.
While sitting next to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and environmental activist Bill McKibben, Ocasio-Cortez loaded her platitude gun and set it to auto-fire during a panel discussion. During her time to speak, Ocasio-Cortez waxed poetic about how the only thing between a better, greener future is our willingness to be courageous about obtaining it.
According to her, the immediate reaction to any “bold proposal” she brings forth is for others to “incite fear.”
“But the only way we’re going to get out of this situation is by choosing to be courageous,” said the
democratic socialist. “That’s the only way we’re going to get out of this.
She then went on to tell everyone that it’s “just plain wrong” that our economy would falter as a result of her bold proposals, including the Green New Deal. Ocasio-Cortez laid down that it was a for sure thing that converting to 100% green energy would not only create jobs, but it would improve the economy.
Needless to say, the young Democrat starlet didn’t explain how, but didn’t it just sound great?
Of course, that’s when Ocasio-Cortez noted that the Green New Deal wouldn’t just improve the economy, but it would also bring about social justice for everyone.
“[W]e can use the transition to 100 percent renewable energy as the vehicle to truly deliver and establish economic, social and racial justice in the United States of America,” said Ocasio-Cortez.
She then praised the original New Deal that was passed under President Franklin D. Roosevelt as an example of how we can pass bold economic legislation, even in the worst of times.
Let’s gloss over the fact that The New Deal is now largely acknowledged as one of the worst economic ideas in America’s history and extended the Great Depression years beyond what it was supposed to be.
Let’s instead focus on the claim that somehow switching over to 100 percent renewable energy is going to solve the problem of racism and social injustice, beginning with a simple question.
Not only are you eliminating millions of jobs by switching over to purely green energy, which is far less efficient than what we currently use, creating industries and jobs around green energy would do absolutely jack to bridge the divide between races. In fact, if social justice is the end game, then it would only divide the races further, as social justice creates us vs. them mentalities in almost every aspect of life.
It’s an ideological system that thrives off of creating victims. For the identitarians and social justice warriors, an actual end to racial tensions would be the worst day of their life.
But none of this matters because Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t seem to describe HOW it will solve these problems, but she sure will deliver a lot of flowery rhetoric about how important it is, and how great everything will be once she gets her way.
Ocasio-Cortez has been unable to explain how she’ll pay for all the pie-in-the-sky nonsense she’s been throwing at us since she came into the spotlight and any questioning of her plan is immediately called out as cruel or even sexist.
As I’ve written previously, Ocasio-Cortez is not the smartest, and Democrats need to stop pushing her on us like she is.
