Gun Sales See Spike Despite Democrat Efforts to Slow It Down

Just yesterday, I reported on the fact that support for gun control amongst the public was dropping despite Democrats and the mainstream media attempting to play up the role of guns in recent mass shootings.

Today, new numbers have come out showing that this falling support for gun control is being paired with a hefty spike in the purchases of firearms according to the Washington Examiner:

The leading indicator of gun sales jumped in August, driven in part by Americans seeking self-protection and deep concerns congressional Democrats are going to push through expanded gun control legislation.

The overall number of background checks recorded in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System surged 15.5%, said the National Shooting Sports Foundation. That figure includes background checks done for security, concealed carry permits, and gun sales and was the highest August number ever recorded.

So the pattern is holding. A shooting happens to put people into the position of seeking out the best way to defend themselves if they’re ever put into that position. Democrats attempt to use the shooting as a way to push gun control legislation, prompting even more people to rush out and purchase their firearm before it becomes more difficult and expensive to do so.

For every Democrat action on guns, there is an overpowering reaction from the people.

This should be proof positive to any leftist and gun grabber out there that here in America, gun control just isn’t going to happen. Even when polls show that support for various measures is high, it doesn’t play out in the ballot box as I discussed in the article about falling support.

America is a country that wants its Second Amendment rights intact and ready to use at any time they decide to practice it. This is why Democrats continuously lose on the subject despite the millions of dollars and man hours they put into convincing people that they should get rid of their firearms.
