Ocasio-Cortez Is Promising You a Dream that Can Never Come True, and She Knows It

Democratic socialist and young New York Democrat, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, wants you to come with her on a magical journey where every problem you’ve ever encountered is solved and every social issue plaguing humanity is a thing of the past. She tells us consistently that she has solutions to the things that trouble us, and that if we just put our trust in her, America will become the Utopia we’ve always wanted.

It’s a nice thought, and if it were possible to achieve this kind of Heaven on Earth, I’d be bending my ear a bit. Sadly, it’s not. In the universe that we occupy, the kind of socialistic paradise that our former bartender in her late twenties is promising is literally impossible. It’s a world of pure imagination, and that kind of reality-bending wonder looked better on Gene Wilder.

Ocasio-Cortez is literally promising to take care of you from cradle to grave. She will educate you, clothe you, and give you and make sure that whatever you’re doing, you can make a living off of it.

In fact, she made this exact promise during a rally for 2020 candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders while talking about how we can fight problems like President Donald Trump, big pharma, big oil, and climate change. She spoke of “indigenous wisdom” — whatever that means — and how providing these things will help in “fighting white supremacy.”

“The way we inoculate ourselves from continuing to burn up our planet at unsustainable level triggering feedback loops that we have not even begun to comprehend is by honoring indigenous wisdom and allowing it to guide our climate policy,” Ocasio-Cortez told the crowd. “The way, the way, that we preserve our systems is by transitioning to principles of universality, that means I want you clothed, I want you educated, I want you paid a living wage — no ifs, ands, or buts. And what that also means at what Naomi talked about as well is directly, consciously, combating white supremacy in the United States of America.”

My personal jury is still out on whether or not AOC believes what she’s saying. Part of me thinks that she truly believes that her socialist Utopia is achievable. She’s displayed high amounts of zealous ignorance in the recent past that is characteristic of the hard-Left. Usually, this level of pie-in-the-sky idealism is seen in students around college age, and it easily crumbles under the slightest bit of pressure from a simple debate. She displays this mentality in droves. Every tweet and interview screams it.

Part of me is more convinced that she knows full well that what she’s promising is about as real as a unicorn galloping up with a pot of gold on a rainbow. She may have believed all of this when she first got into office, but after having more than a few experts, more than a little public exposure to differing ideas, and an internal glace of how things work, it seems unlikely to me that she still wouldn’t know, or at least have some kind of inkling.

Sticking to guns as fantastical as hers would take a lot of pushing away of reality, closing your ears to every economist who happens across your path, and seeing to it that you avoid a lot of reading. Even her own fellow Democrats have scoffed openly at the pure fantasy that is the Green New Deal.

But the main reason I think she knows it’s fantasy is because of what she’s not doing. She’s careful about who gets to interview her, and the questions she’s asked are never poignant ones. The elephant in the room very rarely ever gets mentioned to AOC, namely, “how are you going to pay for all of this?”

She was asked that several times before, and it never went well. She would devolve into a word salad that left people, including the hosts, scratching their heads in confusion. She did that because she didn’t have a plan. Behind the safety of a keyboard, AOC would come up with wild ideas about where the money would come from and would get shot down by hard-left media outlets like the Washington Post.

This lead to her famous quote about it being more important to be “morally right” than focus on hard facts.

She pretty much told you everything you need with that moment right there. She knows she doesn’t have the necessary knowledge or a plan that can bring her Utopia to fruition. She has an idea of what America would look like, and she’s going to try to push us into it come hell or high water, both of which would come before her plan ever happened.

At this point, it’s far likelier that she knows it’s a pipe dream. The problem is, this nonsense put her in a position of power. It gives her an exorbitant check every month and a lifestyle that she doesn’t want to give up. This lie has given her fame and fortune, and so her mission is changed. She’s still going to push for the Utopia she and her friends would sit around talking about over drinks, but now it’s not for the purpose of pushing for a Utopia, it’s for the purpose of enriching herself.

In other words, a socialist is going to be a socialist.

In the mind of the socialist, socialism is for the people, not the socialist.

It’s why Sanders can rant and rave about how the rich are horrible while owning three multi-million dollar homes and living a lifestyle that most Americans can only dream of. It’s why people like Kim Jong Un, Nicholas Maduro, Joseph Stalin, and every socialist dictator in history lived in luxury while their people suffered and starved.

AOC is no different. After telling everyone in congress that they should have principles and refuse a paycheck during a government shutdown, she ran away from journalists asking if she was accepting hers.

Principles are for others, not Ocasio-Cortez.

This makes watching her speeches at Sanders’ rallies all the more disgusting. There are a lot of people in that crowd — many of them young adults — who look up to her and Sanders with absolute adoration. They truly believe that a revolution is coming and that it will bring with it an end to every problem under the sun.

Just like other supporters of socialist revolutions did.

They’ll cheer and get hyped at thinking that these two leaders in front of them are going to guide America into a new dawn of a socialist paradise, not even considering for one moment that what is being promised them is impossible. Socialism has never worked and can never work. We aren’t the right species for it. Our very primal instincts defy it.

I explain in more detail in this video, and by the way, keep an eye out because RedState VIP’s will get upcoming videos like this twice a month.

We give AOC a lot of flack for being the person in congress with the lowest IQ, but she may be one of Washington’s best hucksters playing a long-con with such perfection that other Democrats have literally begun acting like her in various ways, such as Elizabeth Warren and Robert “Beto” O’Rourke.

This makes me almost pity those cheering her on and mobbing others on her behalf.
