Let's Lighten the Mood: John Krasinski Releases Episode 2 of "Some Good News"

The off-Broadway Public Theater said Thursday, Oct. 1, that Krasinski will make his theatrical debut in playwright Sarah Burgess’s “Dry Powder,” which has a behind-the-scenes look inside a private equity firm. Last week, I reported on how 13 Hours and Jack Ryan star John Krasinksi was tired of hearing nothing but bad news and decided to take matters into his own hands. Creating a YouTube channel called Some Good News, America’s good guy did exactly as the show’s name implied and gave us some good news.

After that, I promised to write an article every time he released one so that all of RedState’s readers could be sure to see it. The response was overwhelmingly positive in the comments (yes, I read those) and so here we are. Another week into the quarantine and another episode of SGN that we can enjoy.

In this episode, Krasinski talks about corporations that have stepped up to begin helping with the relief effort, mentioning sports equipment creators now moving to create materials from facemasks and full-body protective gear.

Krasinski also shows that the quarantine hasn’t stopped people from sharing awesome moments while social distancing, including teacher parades.

The good news doesn’t stop there, as Krasinski gives one little girl the best day of her life by inviting the cast of Hamilton to sing for a little girl when it was reported that her trip to Broadway was canceled due to the virus.

Enjoy Some Good News!

Krasinski’s brand of wit and good-guy charm makes for a really good delivery system for this kind of show and, as you can see at the beginning of this episode, it’s inspired some people to rip the star off and create their own videos featuring good news. It’s something that Krasinski says he’s in complete approval of.

He’s not wrong. There’s definitely a weight being put on the society, economically and emotionally. The more good news we spread, the better.
