Shelley Luther, the owner of Salon A La Mode, recently went to jail after refusing to apologize to a Dallas County judge for opening her salon in defiance of lockdown orders.

This decision by Dallas authorities has been lambasted by everyone from Dallas residents, to denizens of the internet, all the way up to Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw who called Dallas authorities “small-minded” and “drunk with power.”

The American people aren’t just stopping at voicing their disagreement. Once again, they’re putting their money where their mouth is both figuratively and very literally.

A GoFundMe was started for Luther by a man named Rick Hire on April 23. As of today, Hire has raised over $206,000 with more still coming in by the minute. At this time the goal is $250,000, but at this rate, it’s likely going to surpass the goal mark.

Hire wrote in the description of the page that it’s likely Luther and her business will face legal fines and financial troubles down the line and that donating to the GoFundMe is not only support for Luther, but it’s also support for the freedom our founders intended:

Shelley Luther is an American Hero that has decided to resist tyranny by opening her business against an unlawful State Executive Order. Her business, SALON A LA MODE offers services for hair and nails, microblading, permanent makeup, professional event makeup, braiding and more! Shelley and her team will likely face legal action, fines, and more during her journey back to freedom. She is doing what everyone else is only talking about, in a patriotic move to take back her liberty! Please support Shelley, and her employees by contributing to this worthy cause. You will not just be supporting Shelley, but you will be supporting the idea that our founders put in writing in the Constitution. 100% of all donations will go directly to Shelley Luther.

The overwhelming support shown for Luther through this GoFundMe shows us that the American people are ready to defy the authorities in order to open up local businesses and get the economy rolling again. As Luther told the judge, she will not apologize for feeding children, which was the purpose of defying the orders in the first place.

As I said in my latest video, the health of our economy and the health of our people are one in the same, and with information about the virus telling us that much of the precautions being taken to slow the spread of the virus are largely theatric, businesses opening up to begin restarting cash flow is essential work.

All of this should be a very strong message to authorities, not just in Texas, but across the nation. The people are done hiding and they won’t be intimidated into thinking otherwise.
