Since George Floyd’s murder, too many people have been using his death as an excuse to destroy, loot, and do violence. People have lost their livelihoods, been seriously injured, or worse, have died due to the senseless violence that has erupted.
The media describes them as “protests” and shows signs that say “black lives matter,” yet they almost completely ignore the black lives that are destroyed during these riots. Atrocities are visited upon black communities and hardly any time is dedicated to it by news personalities or networks.
But even though you might not see them, the senseless violence has victims. Here are just a few.
Be aware, there is graphic content in this video.
While a riot may be the language of the unheard, too many victims of the riots are going unheard themselves. There is no excuse for the devastation brought upon innocent people over the slaying of one man. Communities are now in smoldering ruin and entire families have been devastated, many of them black families whose lives were purported to be the reason people are rioting in the first place.
They shout “No justice, no peace” but there cannot be real justice without peace. Voices who need to be heard are silenced in the chaos of the riots and the problems that we looked to solve have now gone by the wayside in the midst of the fire and smoke.

If we’re ever going to stop this senseless destruction and violence then we need to begin denouncing it from the very beginning and stopping those who would destroy in the same way many protesters have been doing over the past few weeks.
The moment we solve the riot problem, the moment we can get to solving the problems that needed to be solved long ago.
