CNN host Chris Cuomo is doing his absolute best to make excuses for the massive spike in homicide rates across the nation. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows exactly why it’s happening, but Cuomo has a different excuse.

It’s the Republicans. More accurately, it’s the Republicans reopening their states.

During Wednesday’s show, Cuomo said he was going to drop some “troof on their roof” after playing a clip of White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany pointing to New York’s skyrocketing gun violence. The CNN host proceeded to dismiss the Black Lives Matter protests and calls for defunding the police and focused squarely on the fact that people are getting out about now that lockdown orders have been lifted in various states and have just started killing each other as a result.

“The increases started in June. You say, ‘hey, wasn’t that about the same time as the protests, all those calls to defund the police? That’s gotta be the reason,” Cuomo said sarcastically. “See, you turn on the cops and the criminals run wild.’ That’s why she wants questions about it, to say that, right?”

“But what else started in June?” Cuomo asked. “Well, states started lifting stay at home orders, now, didn’t they? Well, you don’t know that that’s what it was. Okay. Why, in April and May, when businesses were closed and we were forced to stay home, were homicides down?”

“Why? Kids are out of school, more people are out in general and in contact with each other,” he added. “So more chance for beefs, good and bad. Add it to a seasonal increase in drug consumption and you get more of us at our worst. But this here is unique – people are not out and about as much, at least they shouldn’t be.”

He also blamed the weather, noting that homicides always rise when it gets hotter.

New York has experienced a 358 percent spike in gun crime. People are literally shooting down civilians as they walk with their children on the street. Atlanta, Georgia, isn’t fairing any better and even the city’s leftist mayor is noting that it’s not police doing the killing of everyone (including children) it’s community members.

The most violence just so happens to be occurring in cities where the leadership is primarily comprised of Democrats, especially in cities where its leaders have abandoned their police, leaving them vulnerable to everything from lawsuits to actual death. Proactive policing has declined drastically since and as a result, homicides have seen a massive spike.

The fantasy storyteller that is Chris Cuomo is out of his New York state of mind if he thinks the reason that homicides are going up is that people started getting back out in the rhythm of everyday life. People needed to in order to rescue their failing economies and bring us back from an economic freefall that would have damaged us for years to come.

If Cuomo thought was going to drop some “troof” on people, he should probably reanalyze the makeup of what he’s dropping on folks. I can tell you that it smells bad and looks like things I find in rancher’s fields.

If you really want to find the reason people are shooting each other, I suggest you start looking around the Democratic party, which is exactly the one place the clown posing as an anchor, Chris Cuomo, didn’t mention. At this rate, however, I’m not even sure why anyone takes the guy even remotely seriously.

I’ve seen better storytelling in the Mario movie.
