The shamelessness of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot should go down in legend as her reaction to President Donald Trump expanding “Operation Legend” into her city wasn’t to be grateful for his assistance with her city’s shocking crime and homicide rate, but to paint herself as a victim.

Under lightfoot’s leadership, Chicago has experienced a skyrocketing homicide rate, which was already higher than it should have been in the first place.

As such, Trump decided to expand “Operation Legend” into Chicago, which includes moving federal agents from various departments into the city in order to combat its rising crime and homicide rate.

Lightfoot’s response was to make vague threats about taking Trump to court if anyone of his federal officers stepped out of line, but one very weak and embarrassing moment saw Lightfoot doing what Democrats do best in any situation where they face some sort of opposition…

…she victimized herself.

“The president has been on a campaign now for some time against Democratic mayors across the country,” said Lightfoot.

Lightfoot named mayors that Trump has been supposedly on a campaign against, naming mayors from Seattle, Atlanta, and more.

“You see a common theme here?” asked Lightfoot.

“The president is trying to divert attention from his failed leadership on Covid-19,” she added.

The common theme that the mayor is hinting at is the fact that every city mayor she named had mayors that are women. In other words, Lightfoot is attempting to sell the idea that Trump is only doing this because she’s a woman.

Nevermind that other mayors that Trump has criticized for their horrible job have been New York’s Bill de Blasio, Portland’s Ted Wheeler, and Kansas City’s Quinton Lucas, all of which are men.

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows the truth of the matter is that the city is drowning in blood. Just yesterday a mass shooting happened that injured 15 people. As of today, Chicago’s 2020 homicide count sits at 412 according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Lightfoot ignored these dead and injured in her crime-infested city in order to victimize herself in one of the most shallow ways possible.

This should be a wake-up call for Chicago residents. Their leader just shrugged off the victims of real violence and crime in order to play politics.

Digusting.
