Police Officers Pay Dearly for Biden’s Soft on Crime Approach

Democrats have been a toxic presence for everyone and everything from the economy to border states, but one other group suffering the most under Democrat leadership is our nation’s thin blue line.

According to new data from the FBI, the LEOKA (law enforcement officers killed in action) database shows that 73 officers were murdered in 2021. The Heartland Institute noted that this is a 58.7 percent jump for the year as 46 officers had been murdered in 2020, and 48 before that in 2019.

This is the worst year for police deaths since 1995 which saw 74 officers murdered, with only 2011 finding a peak at 72 that year.

This is the effect of a very obvious cause and it was pointed out by Jason Johnson of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund according to Fox News:

“We believe it’s a combination … of the George Floyd protests — riots, if you will; a general feeling of a preference for less law enforcement; and less prosecution and less policing,” said Jason Johnson, president of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF) and a 20-year police veteran.

“Law enforcement officers have essentially been marginalized and demoralized and cast aside and encouraged not to enforce the law. And so we’ve seen massive jumps in the homicide rate in cities across America.”

He added that “it’s natural” rising homicide rates in major U.S. cities have “also resulted in many more officers being assaulted because … a lot of leaders in these cities and leaders in Congress and leaders in the White House have really voiced a lack of respect for law enforcement officers.”

This is an effect with a very obvious cause. Democrats have been pushing for the defunding and weakening of police with increasing veracity over the course of the past few years, culminating in many blue cities actually going through with a “reimagining” of police, resulting in skyrocketing murder rates. Tied with the demonization of police around the nation, the number of murdered police officers was bound to rise and rise quickly.

As Senator John Kennedy noted about the crime rise, the Democrat’s unofficial approach to crime is “Hear no evil, see no evil, prosecute no evil.”

The soft-on-crime approach has been a Democrat staple for decades, but Biden’s election to the White House gave Democrats the power to do as they pleased from the top down. While Biden has insisted he’s not one for defunding the police, he himself had suggested reallocating resources and funding to different departments. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has attempted to mask the surge as a “gun violence” problem, rejecting the idea that this is somehow the Democrat Party’s fault.

The news gets worse for Democrats, as a strong majority of voters seem to be aware that the soft-on-crime approach from Democrats from top to bottom is a major problem and massively disapproves of the job they’re doing.

The bottom line is that the Democrats have turned their back on our law enforcement officers and they’re suffering in many ways including dying in horrific numbers. This doesn’t just affect them either. The brazen attacks on law enforcement mean a complete disregard for the law, and you can see crime spiking across the nation as a result.

Biden and the Democrats are plunging the country into chaos and our thin blue line is taking some of the heaviest hits.
