David Hogg Needs a Reality Check About Who He's 'Fighting'

David Hogg arrived on the scene after the Parkland Shooting and quickly became the face of Gen Z's new activist wave of gun control.

And what a sad choice that was for the left.

If there's one thing Hogg is good at, it's running his mouth, and he often does so to his detriment. You've likely forgotten most of the times he's embarrassed himself through unproven claims or over-dramatic declarations because he's done it so often. Still, like any good little leftist foot soldier, he's put his dignity behind him and continued to push forward for the cause.

But it's this "cause" that Hogg, this kid who is apparently so brilliant that he got into Harvard...

...seems to be confused about.

Look at Hogg's recent bout of hyperbolic nonsense in this tweet he posted on Friday.

"The gun lobby knows they are losing," Hogg declared. "You can only get so many kids, friends and parents slaughtered until you have a mass movement of parents and young people laser focused on ending you. We will fucking end them."

I won't waste my time debunking this tweet, because by now my readers are well aware that the term "slaughtered" isn't applicable. That's a term you'd use for...say, a terrorist group conducting an operation to kill thousands of people because of their ancestry, but Harvard doesn't seem to have taught its students about the difference between a slaughter and a mass shooting.

What happened in Maine was an atrocity, but let's keep the main thing the main thing here. This happened at the behest of a mentally ill man whom the FBI was well aware of and yet did nothing about.

This will come into play later, so remember the "mentally ill man" part.

Notice Hogg's target in his post. It wasn't directed at the government who failed to prevent this man from killing people despite their knowledge about him. It wasn't even pointed at the man who did the shooting.

It was pointed at the "gun lobby."

Two things. Firstly, the gun lobby did nothing to make this shooting happen. Its primary concern is keeping America's 2nd Amendment rights untouched by a group of authoritarians who would love to take power away from the people. It is not an advocate for the killing of innocent people but for the legal and responsible ownership of firearms.

Secondly, the "gun lobby" isn't really an entity that exists as a stand-alone entity. The gun advocacy groups that makeup what Hogg believes is a singular, malicious entity is...you.

You, the Second Amendment supporter who wants to be able to rightfully and legally own your firearms as a law-abiding citizen. You, who want to be able to own and maintain the best means to defend your family from enemies who may seek to do you and yours harm. You, who knows far more about firearms than Hogg will ever deem to find out, but have to hear endless waves of ignorant nonsense from people like Hogg who believe their advocacy for punishing you for the wrongs of others makes them the good guy.

And that's a bottom line that needs to be understood.

You did nothing wrong and yet Hogg continues to attack you. His ultimate target isn't the "gun lobby," it's the American people. That's who's standing in his way, you.

Hogg is, at the end of the day, attacking Americans, the same people he's constantly patting himself on the back for "protecting" and "fighting" for. And as it goes for Hogg, so it goes for the rest of these self-important moral busy bodies who think they know what's good for you.
