On Tuesday, I wrote an article about how the left will ultimately fail to find its own Joe Rogan or Charlie Kirk, because its approach to dealing with inconvenient facts is to not approach them at all. Instead, the strategy is to misdirect, accuse, and ridicule just like the outdated "Rules for Radicals" said to.
This strategy worked for so long, but thanks to evolutions in both human technological development and social developments, it is losing its luster and — I would argue — is even turning would-be leftists away from the left.

I was perusing TikTok when I came across such an example.
A young woman created a video announcing that she's leaving the left, but what's interesting is that she said she dreaded making this video because she knows how the left is when it comes to dissent.
I suggest you watch the video yourself, and as you do, you'll notice a few interesting things.
For one, she still believes in things that leftists would, and even says it's important to protect our "democracy," which is a very typical misunderstanding of what we have. She is, for all intents and purposes, still very much left-leaning, but she recognizes that there are a lot of wheels spinning on the left with very little movement. She doesn't think that everything has to be "red vs blue" and that there are plenty of things that both sides can agree on, yet don't because the left simply can't stop hating conservatives long enough to do anything about fixing the problems we both see we have.

She says she knows the most infuriating part of her video for the left is asserting that no one should be hated for how they voted or "sliced for asking questions."
What an interesting thing to say.
The left is plagued with ideological rigidity. The bubble leftists house themselves in is thick and getting thicker all the time, but this has come at an extreme price. Only true believers can exist in that kind of environment, and the human species is too diverse for that kind of uniformity... and I don't mean the skin-deep diversity the left values, I mean it's too diverse in thought. Individualism is the default setting of the human brain, and this plagues the modern left.
As the girl says, expressing anything that falls outside the approved boundaries, leftists will put a massive target on your back and you will be attacked, lambasted, ridiculed, accused of every social sin imaginable, and — if they can get away with it — find something that will destroy your life. The left rules through fear, not through consensus, debate, and finding what works.
And that is unsustainable. This is a strategy that may work at first, but as the failures mount up, thanks to an inability to adapt or work with differing ideas, people will begin to leave, drift away, or even be pushed away.
And that rigidity stops leftists from hearing messages like the one this girl gave and understanding where they're going wrong. To the left, this girl is an apostate or a heretic. She's not thinking clearly; she's full of internalized misogyny and white privilege. She can have a laundry list of issues, but the one thing she can't have is a point. Her thinking falls too far outside the boundaries, and as such, she must either be ignored or destroyed.
Step back and look at the width and breadth of humanity. The experiences each of us has, the families we came from, the places we grew up, the friends we've made and lost, the wins we've gained, and the losses that shaped us. The slight nuances from person to person in terms of how we think and act make for a dizzying array of individuals with individual qualities, dreams, hopes, needs, wants, ambitions, and tastes.
Now, try to take all of that real, substantial diversity and try to tell every single one of these individuals that they must think, act, and obey a singular ideology that values none of this individuality.
Do you hear how stupid that sounds? Can you grasp how that could not feasibly work in the reality in which we exist?
That's the left... and that's why it's dying.
You can point to myriad things like bad Democrat strategies, stupid politicians, and horrible policies, but at the end of the day, what's killing the modern left is its inability to accept the fact that individuality exists and is stronger than any Utopian ideal it can cook up.
