New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is hardly one of my favorite politicians, but he was right about one thing. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio needs to go. And it can’t wait until he’s up for reelection. If possible, de Blasio’s handling of the NYC riots is even worse than his response to the coronavirus.

The city is facing its worst crisis since 9/11. Over the last few days, the NYPD has arrested over 700 looters in the city. Due to bail reform legislation that went into effect on January 1, 2020, most of those arrested have already been released.

Countless stores have been looted and vandalized. Rioters have damaged property throughout the city and some have resorted to violence. But, amazingly, de Blasio’s NYPD had time to send officers to the Orthodox Hasidic Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn to warn them of arrest if they chose to attend prayer services later that evening.

Investigative reporter Sara Carter reported a related incident in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn on Tuesday.

Liora Rez, Director of StopAntisemitism.org, told Carter, “Under the leadership of Mayor Bill de Blasio, seeing the NYPD yesterday kick mothers and children out of a Williamsburg Park while simultaneously allowing New York City to burn at the hands of rioters shows the Mayor’s true feelings about his Jewish constituents. We are calling on the Mayor to stop his double standards when it comes to the Jewish community and to treat everyone equally.”

How many of the peaceful protestors have the NYPD threatened to arrest for social distancing violations?

Probably zero. Mayor de Blasio treats the rioters who have done their best to destroy the city, who have thrown bricks and bottles at police officers, with more respect than he does the Orthodox Hasidic Jews who have lived here for generations. Don’t tell us about systemic racism, Mr. Mayor, while you target the Jews.

Bill de Blasio is a bigot and a hypocrite.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, a city run by another liberal mayor, Eric Garcetti, LAPD officers were sent to break up a casual neighborhood baseball game. In the video below, one of the participants says, “…trying to play baseball. There’s riots going around L.A. and they come with two cops to stop ten guys from playing baseball.”

The individual who sent the videos to @ReaganBattalion captioned one of them, “These 2 low life’s parked there [sic] cart in middle of the field and called the cops.”

“So once again we’re here in the city of Los Angeles, we’re just trying to throw around a baseball with a bat…thousands of people protesting around the world, but we can’t play with fourteen people with a ball.”
