Sometimes when you’re watching a person speak, they say something so absurdly dumb it takes your breath away. Whoopi Goldberg did that with an idiotic comment about abortion on ‘The View.’ They were discussing Neil Gorsuch and comparing him to Merrick Garland when Joy Behar asked if he would rule on overturning Roe vs. Wade.

Goldberg immediately says, “He can’t!” and then explains:

Is she serious? Roe vs. Wade can’t be overturned because it’s “part of the constitution?” How can one person be this ignorant? Also, why on earth did Jedediah Bila say, “I agree”? How can anybody agree with something so dumb?

As a liberal, Whoopi likely has a very favorable view of two Supreme Court decisions that were later overturned by Supreme Court.  According to ‘Whoopi Logic’, ‘Plessy v. Ferguson’ was wrongly overturned by ‘Brown vs. The Board of Education’ since ‘Plessy’ was “part of the constitution.”

In 1986, the Supreme Court upheld sodomy laws (laws that criminalized homosexual conduct) in Bowers vs. Hardwick. That case was overturned by Lawrence vs. Texas in 2003.

There are in fact, over 200 times when the Supreme Court overturned their own previous decisions. So for Goldberg to argue “He can’t” when asked about Judge Gorsuch overturning Roe vs. Wade, it just shows how little she knows how the system works.
