Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Milano tweeted:
I’m aware of the new developments in Tara Reade’s accusation against Joe Biden. I want Tara, like every other survivor, to have the space to be heard and seen without being used as fodder. I hear and see you, Tara. #MeToo

Milano, who is an avid Biden supporter, didn’t “hear and see” Reade when the allegations first surfaced. In an interview with radio host Andy Cohen, she wasn’t quite as keen on automatically believing women when it came to Reade’s story.
Milano finally addressed this blatant hypocrisy in an interview with the radio host Andy Cohen. Here is what she had to say. “We have to societally change that mindset to believing women, but that does not mean at the expense of not giving men their due process and investigating situations. It’s got to be fair in both directions,” she said.
Too bad she didn’t have this same energy with Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
She explained that despite the allegations, she didn’t “feel comfortable throwing away a decent man that I’ve known for 15 years,” without “a thorough investigation.”
Tara Reade recently slammed Milano for her remarks regarding her allegations and her apparent hypocrisy. In an interview with Fox News, Reade explained that the activist “knows nothing” about her story.
“I think we need to compare how she responded to Brett Kavanaugh… quite different than the talking points she [used] regarding Joe Biden,” Reade highlighted. “She never reached out to me. I don’t really want to amplify her voice because I feel like she hijacked my narrative for a while and framed it about herself… she knows nothing about it.”
Reade worked for Biden as a Senate staffer in 1993. She alleges that the then-senator forcibly kissed her, touched her, and penetrating her with his fingers without her consent. As can be expected, Biden’s campaign denies that incident and claims that it “absolutely did not happen.”
But we shouldn’t just pick on Milano. She is only one of the many progressives who see #MeToo as a means to attack their political opposition. While most proponents of the #MeToo movement are sincere in their intentions, far too many are just using it as a weapon to target those with whom they disagree.
Members of the corporate media leveraged the #MeToo movement to smear Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings, not because they actually believed he was guilty, but because they wanted to score a victory against Trump, who they hate more than Kira Davis hates the word “raconteur.”
It is this cynical politicization of the movement that has caused many to doubt the intentions of those who proudly use the MeToo hashtag. While some genuinely want to expose sexual predators regardless of political affiliation, it seems the loudest only sees an opportunity to hurt those on the opposite side. This is why the corporate press is largely ignoring Reade’s story; Protecting Joe Biden is their highest priority in the lead up to the 2020 election. Unfortunately for them, they can’t silence everyone.
