It appears more progressive school board members in Florida are about to lose their jobs, at least, if Gov. Ron DeSantis has anything to say about it. After some impressive outcomes in last year’s midterm elections, Republicans in the Sunshine State are about to continue their crusade against leftist officials who have shown blatant disregard for parental rights in schools.

According to a recent report, the governor and his allies are not going to take their feet off the gas after a series of school board victories last year, which means that those seeking to indoctrinate children have reason to be concerned.

Fox News reported:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday rolled out a list of more than a dozen school board members he plans to target in 2024 to protect Florida students and parents from “woke” ideologies seeping into classrooms across the Sunshine State, Fox News Digital has learned.

DeSantis met with Florida House Speaker Paul Renner, Moms for Liberty co-founders Tina Descovich and Tiffany Justice and key leaders in Florida’s school board reform movement in a Tuesday morning meeting.

During the strategy session, the governor outlined his preliminary school board hit list, which includes 14 school board members who “do not protect parental rights and have failed to protect students from woke ideologies.”

“The school board members DeSantis plans to target are from Brevard County, Duval County, Hillsborough County, Indian River County, Miami-Dade County, Pinellas County, Volusia County and Sarasota County,” according to the report.

DeSantis’ team will collaborate with other leaders in the state’s education system to identify and recruit individuals to run for these seats.

“Our children’s education is a no-fail mission. We will continue to support Florida school board candidates who promote the components of a world-class education and defeat those that are focused on the latest ideological trends,” Renner explained in a statement released to Fox News Digital. “Make no mistake, we intend to win as Florida’s future is too important.”

DeSantis campaigned hard on parental rights leading up to his re-election in 2022. Indeed, he has continued to make education one of his signature issues, which has endeared him to the conservative base and has helped to position him to challenge former President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential nomination.

Now, his office is poised to build on the series of victories conservatives won last year when it came to ousting members of school boards that sought to push a “woke” progressive agenda in the classroom. RedState’s Kira Davis noted:

Of the 30 candidates endorsed by DeSantis, 25 won their races. A few boards had the potential to flip from liberal to conservative, and flip they did. Sarasota County flipped their school board from a 3-2 liberal majority to a 4-1 conservative majority. The Miami Dade school board also flipped their majority from liberal to conservative, making them the largest county in America to boast a conservative school board.

The governor’s office invited candidates to run on the anti-woke agenda and apply for endorsements. He invested more than $2 million in these races. It appears his team will repeat their success from last year. This development is part of an overall movement taking place across the country, with candidates running to unseat far-leftist school board members who insist on pushing radical leftist ideas on race, gender ideology, and sexuality to K-12 children. If this story is any indication, the fight against progressive indoctrination in the classroom in 2024 is off to a great start.
