New Polling Numbers Show That Most Americans Support Biden Impeachment Inquiry

Numerous polls have shown that the American public is highly concerned about President Joe Biden, especially when it comes to his age and cognitive abilities, or lack thereof. But other surveys are showing that people are also worried about his potential involvement with his son, Hunter’s, business dealings.

In fact, while Democrats and their close friends in the activist media are currently running interference for the White House after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced an impeachment inquiry, it appears a significant number of Americans believe it is warranted.

An Economist/YouGov survey showed that 45 percent of Americans support the impeachment inquiry while 40 percent are opposed. While this is not a huge margin, it still suggests that the idea isn’t as unpopular as the left would have people believe.

Of course, the results fell along partisan lines, with 77 percent of Republicans favoring the inquiry and only 25 percent of Democrats doing the same. Conversely, about 65 percent of Democrats oppose the move, while only 25 percent of Republicans feel the same.

It is also worth mentioning that the poll also found that 41 percent of respondents indicated their belief that the inquiry is a politically motivated effort to embarrass Biden, which outweighs the 28 percent who disagree.

Another poll conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that about half of Americans have doubts about the Justice Department’s fairness in its investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings and other matters.

About half of Americans say they have little or no confidence that the Justice Department is handling its investigation into Hunter Biden in a fair and nonpartisan way, and 1 in 3 are highly concerned about whether President Joe Biden may have committed wrongdoing related to his son’s business dealings, according to a new poll. But the political divide is stark.

Sixty-six percent of Republicans -- and just 7% of Democrats — are very or extremely concerned about whether Joe Biden committed wrongdoing when it comes to his son’s business dealings, according to the poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

The survey also showed that only 19 percent are highly confident about the fairness of the DOJ’s treatment of the allegations against Hunter. This one also fell along party lines; 79 percent of Republicans expressed low confidence, while 69 percent of Democrats said they were highly or somewhat confident. About 29 percent of Democrats expressed little confidence in the fairness of the investigation.

The results of these polls show that America is divided on matters pertaining to President Biden and his son’s dealings. Still, it is clear that a significant number of Americans are not necessarily buying the narrative Democrats and their close friends in the activist media are spinning about the president’s integrity.

What will be interesting to watch is how the impeachment inquiry proceeds. Democrats are claiming there is absolutely no evidence that Biden was engaged in any sort of wrongdoing and that he is basically the Mother Theresa of presidents. But it is highly likely that a thorough investigation would turn something up that could be used against him if and when Republicans decide to pursue impeachment.

Since Democrats control the Senate, there is almost no chance that the president would be removed from office. Still, if the investigations show that Biden is not on the up-and-up, it could damage his chances of winning a second term.
