The Anti-Israel Propagandists Just Got Some Terrible, No Good, Very Bad News

The anti-Israel crowd isn’t going to like this one. A new poll revealed that American attitudes toward Israel in its war against Hamas have become even more favorable since the hostilities first broke out on October 7.

The findings of the survey show that despite their best efforts, those peddling smear campaigns against the Jewish state are not finding as much success as they would like.

A YouGov/Economist survey revealed that 48 percent of Americans express more sympathy for Israelis with only 10 percent siding with the Palestinians. On top of that, about 23 percent expressed sympathy for both sides of the conflict.

This marks a significant increase from 31 percent in March to 48 percent currently. The percentage of those who were indecisive plummeted from 30 percent to 19 percent, which means people are making up their minds about the issue. It is impossible to spin these numbers in a way that benefits the anti-Israel lobby.

Even more interesting is that support for the Jewish state is bipartisan. Republicans have a higher percentage of support for Israel at 73 percent. About 34 percent of Democrats favor Israel with 32 percent saying they support both sides. Only 16 percent side with the Palestinians, which means folks like Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) are out of touch even with their own party. Among Independents, 47 percent supported Israel while only 10 percent sided with the Palestinians.

When it comes to classifying Israel as a friend or ally, 74 percent of respondents answered in the affirmative. This is an increase from 64 percent in July. Now, here’s the kicker: Much of this change is propelled by Democrats, with 75 percent viewing Israel as an ally, another sharp increase from 57 percent in July.

Now, for those claiming that Hamas ain’t so bad, it appears America isn’t buying that line of folderol either. The survey found that about 57 percent of Americans believe Hamas is an immediate, or somewhat serious, threat. Only 42 percent believed Hamas was a threat in 2015.

Americans also are majorly supportive of the US sending humanitarian and financial aid to Israel. About 70 percent said they favor humanitarian aid while 49 percent would support financial aid. The majority are against sending economic aid to the Palestinians; this could be because Hamas has not yet been eliminated as a threat.

These numbers are a huge slap in the face to those trying to turn world opinion against Israel as the war rages on. They have tried a number of different tactics, including peddling false narratives. The story about the explosion at a hospital in Gaza City, which some Democrats and members of the activist media tried to blame on Israel was the most recent example.

Of course, it is possible that some of the numbers related to attitudes toward the Palestinians could change after Hamas finally falls. A significant chunk of respondents indicated that they also have sympathy for the plight of Palestinian civilians who are not involved in the fighting. Indeed, many of them have perished and suffered because of Hamas’ actions. The future in the Middle East is uncertain. But for now, it appears America still stands with Israel.
