VA School District Does Nothing After Female Student Strangles Boy on School Bus

It is terrible that this incident of a young student being assaulted by another student had to happen at all, and even more horrific that it happened on a public school bus. But what is truly heinous is the response to the parent by the school district, and that for hundreds, if not thousands of school-aged children, this type of suffering is just another day in the books.

This mother, Taylor Brock, had no idea that her son was experiencing something beyond bullying. In any other world, this would be considered attempted murder. Here are the pictures of her son’s neck, directly after the attack, and a day later.

Brock, who lives in Northern Virginia, was outraged, and rightly so. She expected the school district to take action, but her demands fell on deaf ears. So, wrote the story as a blog post on her website, Modma:

On January 23, 2023, my son was assaulted and strangled on the school bus by another student. I learned about the altercation when my son came home crying with red marks on his neck. The girl who harmed my son this day was also the same one who stole a toy from him months prior to which the school said they would “take care of it.” I was sent this video from another student which made me realize how severe and traumatic this event was for my son and also learned that the video was actually the SECOND time she attacked and strangled him. I immediately went to the school to show them the video of the assault and pictures of my son’s neck. Upon seeing this I was sure that the school would take proper action and keep not only my son safe but the other children on the bus and school safe too by expelling her. Surely, a child seen committing a heinous crime would get expelled from school.

We live in an upside-down world. If this boy had defended himself or fought back, you know he would have been suspended or expelled. Because 1) he is male, and 2) he appears to be Caucasian. In our educational system steeped in CRT and DEI (diversity-equity-inclusion), white males automatically draw the short straw. Also note that the attacker is a Black female, so you know the DEI team in that district weighed in on how to soft-roll this so as not to appear racist.

The result: The girl was suspended for two weeks. The mother had to get an order of protection for her son.

This wasn’t two kids fighting. This was one child continuing to attack and strangle another student. Not once did my son retaliate against her and he suffered emotional and physical trauma for it. The school was able to pull bus camera footage to show that she did indeed go back to my son’s seat twice.  The school said they couldn’t tell me what action would be taken against the girl but that they would take care of it. I went to the courthouse and got a 2 week protection order for my son which noted that she was to remain a minimum of 50 feet away which I gave to the school. I found out from my son that she had come back to school after being merely suspended for a criminal act such as strangulation. How is that fair?

It isn’t, and the school’s lackluster response is beyond disturbing.

Will the district assign security to this young man? Oh, right, they don’t want resource officers in school. So, this young boy continues to live in fear of retaliation and more bullying every day.

The school told me that they would make sure they don’t have the same classes together, but my son told me that he passes by her in the hall and that she chose to sit behind him at lunch, knowing the protection order was in place. Not only did the girl not take this protection order seriously, but the school didn’t either. When I confronted the school and told them to look at the camera footage they confirmed that she continued to disobey the protection order and that they acknowledged that they “didn’t know she was sitting behind him at lunch.” Of course they wouldn’t know! They can’t follow around every student that harms and bullies another student. So what are the schools doing to keep our children safe, because the “preventative” measures they put in place aren’t cutting it.

The boy’s two friends, the ones who also taped the attack, were afraid to come forward, fearing retaliation. This female bully is a known commodity among the children and at the school, but the mother has learned that she specifically targets her son because he is short and skinny for his age. According to the mother, no other parents have been notified that this strangulation attack occurred. No other parents know that this female bully could and is a danger to their children.

Apparently, the school district is waiting until this bully does serious harm to this boy or another student. In this day and age, they may not have to wait that long.

It is one thing for parents to battle CRT and other curriculum that is focused on pitting children against each other, to fight against having their child being sexually confused and genitally mutilated, and to block schools from pushing a toxic vaccine that will injure or kill their child. Now, they have to watch in slow motion while another student targets and possibly injures or kills their children, merely for the sake of sport.

We are watching Lord of the Flies in real-time, and the schools are the desert islands.
