It’s the biggest online shopping day of the year, and you’ve got a lot of ground to cover. Add to that the fact that it’s a work day, and things are going to be difficult. However, all is not lost. We here at RedState want you to get the most out of the most wonderful time of the year. So, in the spirit of helping out our fellow man, here are some tips and hints for getting the most out of Cyber Monday.

1. Install the Honey plugin on your browser.

This is the very first thing you need to do. “Honey” is an add-on that automatically finds and applies coupon codes from around the Internet to your online orders. No matter what site you’re shopping on, if there is a coupon, Honey will find it. What it does is applies each coupon code on the purchasing page and applies whatever gets you the most savings. The Google add-on can be found here, and the Firefox add-on here.

2. Amazon is king for a reason.

I needed a pair of sunglasses. I went to Amazon’s Lightning Deals and found a pair that is normally around $60 selling for just $15. Amazon’s Lightning Deals are always good, but on days like today, those will go fast. Amazon’s Cyber Monday section is full of stuff you probably didn’t even know you needed (please spend responsibly).

3. But, plenty of places are offering good deals.

Amazon has everything, but at the same time it doesn’t. If you need to do any online clothing shopping, Amazon’s options are not as diverse as you’d think they’d be. As well, coupon codes and promotions are not as plentiful as they are elsewhere. Shop around and price things out. Walmart, Target, and Best Buy are going to have some sweet deals, so don’t limit yourself when looking at your possibilities.

4. Hold off on getting that new TV.

I know, you really want to move that big TV to your bedroom and get an even bigger one for the living room. Maybe one of the kids can get the one that’s in your room. I’d wait if I were you, though. Believe it or not, shopping around Super Bowl season typically gives you the better sales, as manufacturers are trying to get rid of last year’s inventory to make way for this year’s inventory. Both before and after the Super Bowl can get you good deals, depending on what you’re after, and don’t necessarily rely on the big name TV manufacturers. The lesser-known brands provide products that are just as good.

5. If you want to tech it up, now is the time.

It looks like every tech producer from Apple to Amazon is looking to get their top products out into the wider market. Those inclined to shop online are also the ones who would be most interesting in Amazon’s Echo or Dell’s top models. Don’t get swept up in going all tech nerd on the family, but a lot of these machines are excellent so long as you don’t have any (perfectly rational fears) about SkyNet going live under Donald Trump’s administration.

But, most of all, have fun with it.

The biggest thing about shopping is how much fun you can have looking at all the bright and shiny out there (again, please spend responsibly). Enjoy yourself, and look for things you and your family can enjoy. There are lots of toys you can chase after with the right deals and coupons, so if you have a wishlist, it’s time to start crossing some of them off.
