Hillary the Unaccomplished is still playing the gender card. At this point, that’s all she has left in the campaign. She’s been in the public eye for years, but name recognition is not the same as being qualified for the job of president.

Since she saw Barack Obama use the race card so victoriously in 2008 (and even 2012), I’m sure Hillary believed the gender card would be as warmly received. Currently, she attempts to pass herself off as a humble public servant to women in the United States. It’s revolting.

The Wife of Bill Clinton began her campaign talking about how one of her merits is that she’s a female. In July 2015, CNN reported her statements on gender at a campaign stop:

“Clearly, I’m not asking people to vote for me simply because I’m a woman. I’m asking people to vote for me on the merits,” Clinton said.

Then she directly addressed gender, adding: “I think one of the merits is I am a woman. And I can bring those views and perspectives to the White House.”

Vote for her based on merits alone! But remember, her biologically determined gender, which she had no control over, is actually one of those merits. Not sure how that works.

Now the tune has changed slightly to appear more selfless and martyr-like. She’s willing to take the heat from those who oppose her and her gender, because she cares so much.

Her “deal me in” announcement, for things which have already been proven not to be a crisis (disparity in pay based on sexism), or things like child care (hardly the government’s job), is a weak attempt to appear the doting grandmother. She’s here to help, and will even take all the harsh criticism because she’s the female leader you’ve been waiting for! This is amusing considering her very public, privileged, pampered life gives her no recent perspective on what it means to be a middle-class woman/mother in America.

Hillary, who is only reaching that fabled glass ceiling by standing on her husband’s career, lacks actual accomplishments. Her life is plagued by scandal. Her campaign, once considered inevitable, is trying to hold its own against an aging Socialist on her own side, and a juvenile reality star on the other. What’s left in her arsenal? The tired old gender card, this time deployed from an angle from which she says “I’ll take it all on my shoulders.”
