Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Doesn’t Rule out White House Bid, Polls Show Strong Support if He Decides to Run

Actor, businessman, producer, and former professional wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a popular and likable person, and polls have shown strong support for him if he decides to run for President. “CNN Tonight” host Jake Tapper recently interviewed him and asked Johnson about a potential White House bid.

Johnson said that he was “blown away” by the calls for him to launch a White House bid. But he added that, at this moment, his focus is raising his family.

“I’m just really grounded and humbled by the interest on both sides. But the No.1 job, and my No. 1 title, that I love right now is daddy.”

Johnson possibly ruled out a 2024 White House bid, but he kept the door open for a potential run for President; when asked if he was ruling out a future presidential run down the line, Johnson said:

“I have seriously considered it. You have to. When you start looking at some of these polls, and these numbers creep up into the 46%, 50% of the country would vote for me should I run, and I have been – I’ve been really moved by that. I mean, truly, it sat me down.”

Johnson is a father of three, Jasmine Lia, six years old, and Tiana Gia, four years old; his wife, Lauren Hashian, is an American singer and music producer. Johnson’s oldest child, from a previous marriage, Simone Alexander, is 21 years old.

A poll from 2021 found that 58 percent of Americans wanted to see Johnson as the next President of the United States. It seems like Americans can agree on one thing, which is Johnson’s likability and confidence in him to lead our country.

He has called himself a “political independent,” which is where most Americans align themselves, and a “centrist” who has voted for candidates in both parties. The majority of the country seems to be where Johnson is, politically, also known as “the silent majority.”

Following George Floyd’s death and amidst the 2020 summer riots, Johnson made a plea for change in leadership and posted a video message for former President Donald Trump.

The interview with Tapper concluded with Johnson saying:

“I don’t know anything about politics. I will say that I – absolutely, I’m a patriot, and I love our country and I love everybody in it, regardless of color or culture. Don’t care what your bank account says or what kind of car you drive.”

Many Americans are tired of career politicians running our country. If the polls are an indicator, Johnson might get a lot of support from the American people if and when he decides to run for President.
