Lincoln Project Co-Founder Steve Schmidt Loses His Mind Again Trying to Compare January 6th to 9/11

The Lincoln Project is a political action committee that started in 2019 in response to Republican criticism of former President Donald Trump. One of their founders, Steve Schmidt, went on the PBD Podcast, which is hosted by Patrick Bet-David, in a pathetic attempt at again trying to compare the events of January 6th, 2021 to the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001, and even the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.

The clip in question shows how heated the debate got between David, Schmidt, and the other co-hosts of the podcast. The clip begins with David questioning Schmidt about why he thinks the way he does. And in typical smug fashion, he talks over everybody and dismisses anything that he doesn't agree with. Although the conversation started off civil, it quickly turned heated.

Schmidt and all the other Republican or moderate Republican co-founders of the Lincoln Project, namely Kelly Anne Conway's ex-husband George, can be accurately described as Trump haters. Or as many Trump allies like to say, they all have "Trump Derangement Syndrome." They will use anything related to Donald Trump and try to destroy it as they believe Trump and anyone who supports him is insane and must be destroyed, or at the very least, mocked incessantly.

Now let's go over a few things about January 6th, 2021. For all intents and purposes, that day was what I would refer to as a cluster and a very flavorful word to follow, you can see what I am saying. Thousands of people showed up to rally in support of Trump believing that he won the election and wanted to rally outside the Capital, in an attempt to sway the joint session of Congress to decertify the election.

For the most part, and from most accounts, the thousands of people remained peaceful and calm. On the other hand, several people decided to escalate things and chose violence, which led to several police officers as well as fellow protestors being injured. Then you had a large group of people gain entry into the Capital Building, and it should be noted that the entry into the building was not gained by force, rather in many cases the doors and barricades were removed by Capital Police officers. Some of those people decided to toss some offices around, and some even made themselves at home in then-Speaker Pelosi's office.

In one tragic incident, a protestor named Ashli Babbit was shot and killed as she and others broke through a glass door in an attempt to gain entry into a restricted area. These are the facts of the day, they are indisputable and undeniable.

In the House, business was being conducted as per usual, even with the demonstrations inside the building and out. Former Vice President Pence was presiding over the joint session and was hearing the objections of several Republican members who were objecting to the certification, citing numerous cases of alleged voter and election fraud. At the end of all that, the election was certified, and the protests ended, some protestors were arrested, and business went on as usual. The only damage was minor damage inside the Capital Building, several protestors and officers were injured and one protestor was killed. Another Capital Police Officer died a few days later, however, his death was unrelated to the events of that day.

Again, these are the facts and they are indisputable.

No "democracy" was overthrown, no institutions were destroyed, and nothing occurred that couldn't be repaired or replaced without fanfare. To say that our "democracy" was almost destroyed by Trump and his supporters is denying that the sky is blue. Wanting to object to an election and even call for its decertification is as American as apple pie.

In fact, as Democrats love to ignore, the same thing was done in 2000, 2004, and again in 2016, and it was done by, you guessed it, Democrats. But at the end of the day, our Republic survived without so much as a hiccup. The same way it did after January 6th.

Now let us look into what happened on September 11th, 2001, and show the vast differences between that day and January 6th, 2021. September 11th was a day that brought our Nation to its knees when 19 Saudi Nationals crashed three hijacked airliners and slammed them into the North and South Tower of the World Trade Center, into the East ring of the Pentagon, and attempted to crash the fourth plane into the White House, but the passengers on that flight decided to heroically retake the plane from the hijackers, which cause Flight 93 and all of its occupants to crash into that hallowed field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The tragic events of the day killed 2,977 people that day, and so many more years after due to being exposed to toxic debris and chemicals when the Towers collapsed.

The events of 9/11 drove America into a Global War on Terrorism, a war that remains to this day. America invaded two countries, supported the overthrow of a third, killed thousands of terrorists and yes, we tragically killed an unknown number of innocent civilians. All told, as of today, approximately 7,077 Americans have been killed in combat or in direct support of the Global War on Terror. The financial costs that America paid to recover and losses that day are hundreds of billions of dollars.

Schmidt foolishly tries to use the deaths of Americans, especially its Veterans and other Honored dead, over its entire history and use them as the "casualties" we suffered from Trump's alleged attempted overthrow of our Nation. It is beyond stupid to say that for one, but more importantly, to use our Honored dead as a talking point or shield for your argument is what a coward does. You never, ever, disrespect our Fallen by using their memories to push your idiotic and pathetic argument. And the Lincoln Project isn't the only group that does this.

How many times do we see leftists try and do the same or even better when so-called Republicans like former Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) cry when he recalls his experiences of January 6th?

And after it was all said and done, America survived, we persevered, and we moved forward as gracefully as we possibly could. To compare the two events and say that January 6th was worse than 9/11, is not just disrespectful, it is slanderous. To hear somebody say that, or to see someone say that on the TV or computer screen, gives me the biggest urge to send my fist through the screen, in a vain attempt at silencing whoever the mental midget is who said it.

Yes, they are just that, mental midgets. Because their hate for one man is so pure, that they would stoop to a level so far down, they're looking at the clown from the movie "It." Donald Trump is just a man, he is not a deity, he is not a God, he doesn't have unnatural abilities. He made some stupid decisions that day, in my personal opinion, some of which were bad for this Nation, but we never came close to losing our Republic.
