Putin Says He Wants to Work With Biden; You Know, Those 'Shared Values' Between Democrats and Communists

Russian “former” Communist Vladimir Putin is apparently cozying up to the notion of working with Democrat v̶i̶c̶e̶ presidential candidate Joe Biden, in the event that Uncle Joe (Biden, not Stalin) wins the election.

The Russian strongman said, in a wide-ranging interview with the Rossiya TV network released on Wednesday, that he sees a “positive resemblance” between Biden and the Democrats, and former Soviet Union communists, as reported by Newsweek.

While Putin said — being the diplomatic devil he is — that he is open to working with whichever candidate wins the election, his eagerness to compare Biden’s Democrat Party with the old Soviet Union days was odd — the demise of which he has long rued and, to a lesser extent, attempted to reconstitute.

Is this quote Trump campaign ad gold, or what? (emphasis added)

“First, the Democratic Party is traditionally closer to the so-called liberal values, closer to Social Democratic ideas, if compared to Europe. And it was from the Social Democratic environment that the Communist Party evolved. In other words, this can be seen as an ideological basis for developing contacts with the Democratic representative.”

Ah, the reminiscing about the good, old days of the USSR…

“After all, I was a member of the Soviet Communist Party for nearly 20 years. I was a rank-and-file member, but it can be said that I believed in the party’s ideas. I still like many of these left-wing values. Equality and fraternity. What is bad about them? In fact, they are akin to Christian values.”

He went on: “I still like many of these left-wing values.” So does Joe, Vladimir. Is he your guy, or what?

Putin admitted that while these left-wing, so-called “values” are “difficult to implement,” he looks forward to hooking up with Biden on an “ideological basis,” should “Sleepy Joe” become president.

Putin also alluded to the issue of race in America, keenly aware of Biden and the Democrat Party’s wholehearted support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

“Back in the 1930s, Communist International leaders wrote that both black and white workers had a common enemy; imperialism and capitalism. They also wrote that these people could become the most effective group in the future revolutionary battle.”

“So, this is something that can be seen, to a degree, as common values, if not a unifying agent for us. People of my generation remember a time when huge portraits of Angela Davis, a member of the U.S. Communist Party and an ardent fighter for the rights of African Americans, were on view around the Soviet Union.”

So can we, Vladimir, so can we.

As it relates to meddling in U.S. elections, Putin surely lied, but something else he said was spot on — almost.

“We do not interfere. Everything that is happening in the United States is the result of the country’s internal political processes and problems.”

To be sure, “everything that is happening in the United States” is, of course, the result of “internal problems.” (See: “Black Lives Matter movement,” “Antifa,” “anarchists,” “left-wing Democrat mayors and governors,” et al.)

Putin’s comments did not go unnoticed by Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

Twitter boss extraordinaire James Woods won the thread by mockingly suggesting he originally thought the Newsweek article came from The Babylon Bee — America’s premiere satire site, IMHO.

Although, Donald Trump Jr. came with a strong effort as well, alluding to a September Senate report showing Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, accepted $3.5 million from the wife of a fired mayor of Moscow in 2014.

A few final thoughts…

Vladimir Putin is perhaps the preeminent liar among all world leaders.

At the very least, he makes Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden look like pikers. The question is: what was he trying to accomplish by signaling he was willing, ready, and able (eager?) to work with Biden and the Democrats, if Biden wins? He is, after all, a master of deception.

Does Putin favor Trump’s reelection to the point he’s trying to turn voters away from Biden by displaying a willingness to work with a Biden administration and stressing “shared values” between the Democrat Party and Communism, or was he truthful? I suspect somewhere in between.

Whatever the case might be, this stuff is pure gold to the Trump campaign. Something tells me they will take full advantage of it.

Incidentally, in an early August article titled “With Friends Like These… Communist Party Leader Endorses Biden for President,” I reported on the endorsement of Biden by Revolutionary Communist Party USA leader Bob Avakian.

Yep, with comrades like Bob Avakian and Vladimir Putin, Joe Biden and the Democrat Party should feel right at home — or at least have a clear view of where they’re headed.
