The Worst of 2020 Redux: Trump Derangement Syndrome; Liberal Media Sock Puppet Style

MSNBC

To tens of millions of normal Americans, 2020 has been a year that can’t end soon enough. To the Trump Derangement Syndrome-riddled “mainstream” media, 2020 was a gift on a silver Trump-bashing platter. From COVID to “peaceful protests” to back to COVID, in the bitter eyes of the liberal media sock puppets, 2020 has been the gift that’s kept on giving.

Thankfully, the folks over at NewsBusters have been revisiting some of the liberal media’s “finest performances” of 2020 for our viewing “pleasure.” And what better place to start than with our old MSNBC pal, “Tingles”…

Chris “Thrill up My Leg” Matthews and “Dictator” Donald’s “viperous” victory speech

“President Trump spoke today with the venom of a black mamba. ‘Witch hunt, evil, corrupt dirty cops, leakers, liars, disgrace.’ These were the viperous words he spewed in the East Room on a day he began at a prayer breakfast….They sounded like the language of a dictator unleashing a violent purge that his targets would be unlikely to survive.” ~ former host Chris Matthews on Donald Trump’s post-impeachment speech as aired on MSNBC’s Hardball, February 6.

And of course…

Russian hoax redux

“The President is a Russian operative…It is Vladimir Putin’s greatest achievement….This is one of those shocking news days if you retain the capacity to be shocked in the Trump era by the Trump regime, which might be better labeled the Trump-Putin regime.” ~ Host Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC’s The Last Word, February 21.

Who can forget “Cult 45,” a play on the handgun and the old malt liquor “Colt 45,” as the left-wing loons labeled Trump supporters?

“Terrifying doomsday cult” of Trump supporters

Former CNN contributor Reza Aslan: “Defying medical advice in order to make some kind of point about their support for Donald Trump — this is the kind of behavior — this cult-like behavior that can lead to….the deaths of thousands of people. It’s no longer just a cult of personality….it’s now becoming a doomsday cult.” Host Joy Reid: “Yeah, it’s terrifying.” ~ MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” April 12.

The “river of blood” on Trump’s hands — from PMSNBC’s self-declared Socialist

“He’s [Donald Trump] a public health menace, and he has rivers of blood on his hands because of what he and these Republican governors have done.”
~ Jonathan Alter on MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell,” June 26, talking about the President’s response to coronavirus.

And who didn’t know this?

Trump doesn’t care about dead people

“More than 136,000 of our brothers and sisters, our moms and dads, grandparents and friends are dead….The largest single peacetime loss of life in this country since the 1918 influenza pandemic and no end in sight and today, the President was taking another victory lap, yet again. The graves are still fresh but this President ignores them.” ~ Anchor Anderson Cooper on President Donald Trump’s Rose Garden address, as aired on CNN’s AC360, July 14.

The Brzezinskis’ Stage IV Trump Derangement Syndrome remained at critical mass in 2020.

Mr. and Mrs. Mika: “Literally nobody” has done “so much to kill so many.”

Co-host Joe Scarborough: “Nobody’s ever done so much to kill so many people. That is correct.”
Co-host Mika Brzezinski: “That’s true.”
Scarborough: “Nobody.”
Brzezinski: “Literally, nobody.”
~ Discussion after playing a clip of Donald Trump at a rally, as aired on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” October 27.

The drooling all over Corn Pop’s pal and “pragmatic moderate” Kamala Harris was as nauseating as could be — but I’m pretty sure we ain’t seen nothin’, yet.

The ridiculous gush over Biden, Harris, and other Democrats

CNN stooge Van Jones kicks off the festivities: “Hope reborn: such a beautiful thing to see.”

“It was a beautiful speech. Both of them, they strengthen each other….They’re both steadier together. They’re both stronger together. That was such a beautiful thing to see. I think if you’re going to give a headline today it would be ‘Hope Reborn.’ That’s what I felt. Hope reborn. You just haven’t heard people talking that way about the country and cutting through and seeming authentic. They blew me away. Both of them were stronger today than I’ve seen them in a very long time, if ever.” ~ CNN’s “The Situation Room,” August 12.

Then again, thank God, the addled old clown who thinks every American has a right to “badakathcare” came along in the nick of time.

Who could forget Biden “saving the Republic” after the “long national nightmare”?

“The deficit of decency, the deficit of hope, the ascendance of fear, the ascendance of selfishness that we have seen in this country will not totally end with any single election, but a single election can surely help. And what was on the ballot here was decency and democracy and empathy and Joe Biden is particularly well-equipped for this moment.” ~ MSNBC presidential historian and current Joe Biden speechwriter Jon Meacham on MSNBC’s live election coverage of Biden speech, November 7.

Then again, as awesome as Joe is, he will never be able to carry Chicago Jesus’s Barack Obama’s jockstrap.

Doggone it, the liberal media still misses Barack Obama

“Barack Obama was such a transformative figure for people. And he was for many people our age [millennials] the first president that they really got behind. And he made voting into an act of love.” ~ Time magazine journalist and author Charlotte Alter on MSNBC Live, February 18.

Brian “There I Was” Williams continued to be Brian Williams in 2020.

“Lyin’ Brian” Williams and the “divine righteousness” of Ruth Bader Ginsburg

“I was reminded tonight that in the Jewish faith, those who die on Rosh Hashanah are believed to be blessed with an extra type of divine righteousness.” ~ Host Brian Williams during MSNBC live coverage of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing, September 18.

As an aside, I’ve always been amused by the smug looks on the elitist faces of liberal media when they are at their babbling finest.

And what would America do without Mayor Pete, tapped to be Biden’s Transportation secretary?

And finally, “God bless amazing human being Pete Buttigieg”

“God bless Pete Buttigieg, but he kind of talks at the level of Mr. Rogers and with that composure and poise and he just did it up here on the stage in New Hampshire….He speaks in perfect sentences. It’s impressive. He’s an amazing human being….He is that guy that everybody wanted their kids to be friends with at school.” ~ Correspondent Vaughn Hillyard on MSNBC’s live coverage of the New Hampshire Democratic primary, February 12.

As I wrote in another article recently, as awful in many respects as 2020 has been, why do I get the feeling that 2021 is going to show up in eight days and say “Hold my beer”?
