Federal Judge Blocks Biden From Ending Title 42 on Southern Border

Welp, it’s already been a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week for Joe Biden and it’s only Monday.

First, THE DEAL happened: The Twitter board voted unanimously to accept Elon Musk’s offer to acquire the social media giant and take it private. Then a federal judge blocked Biden’s plan to allow Title 42 to expire on May 23, as reported by The Washington Examiner.

Border Patrol officials and even Homeland Security officials, among other experts, have predicted the demise of Title 42 would triple the number of illegal aliens presenting themselves at the border, daily, to as many as 18,000.

“This is a huge victory for border security, but the fight continues on,” Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt wrote in a post on Twitter Monday afternoon.

BREAKING NEWS: In a lawsuit originally filed by Missouri, Louisiana, and Arizona, our Office just obtained a temporary restraining order to keep Title 42 in place. This is a huge victory for border security, but the fight continues on.

Huge victory indeed. Not to mention a temporary sigh of relief, at least, for nervous Democrats running in this year’s midterms, of which a growing number have openly disagreed with Biden and his steadfast refusal to extend the Title 42 provision.

Fox News reported that the temporary restraining order granted Monday prevents the Biden administration from taking any action on Title 42 before a hearing on May 13, which will determine whether the public health order can be lifted later in the month. Team Biden’s insistence that Title 42 is still necessary due to a continuing COVID threat flies in the face of his recent statements that the pandemic is “over” or “ending.”

As to Biden, AG Schmitt told Fox News Digital, last week, as transcribed by Fox News

It’s just really important for our national security, for our border security. It’s one of the few things the federal government is actually supposed to do — securing the border — and Joe Biden is not interested in that, so under our system of federalism, the states are going to push back.

Of course Biden’s not interested in securing the border; he’s interested in permanently changing the demographics of America because he and the Democrats believe they can lock in a permanent Democrat-majority electorate by doing so. It really is that simple.

This is a breaking story. RedState will provide further details as warranted.
