GOP Outcast Liz Cheney Continues Sucking up to Democrats, Endorses Rep. Elissa Slotkin's Re-Election Bid

Welp, the metamorphosis of Republican pariah Liz Cheney is almost complete, America.

Cheney morphed from a “conservative” House Republican to a stage 4 Trump Derangement Syndrome malcontent to getting her ass handed to her in the Wyoming primary race to now endorsing the re-election bid of incumbent Democrat Rep. Elissa Slotkin (Mich.).

But, hey — Lizzie’s daddy, former Vice President Dick Cheney, remains proud as punch of his renegade daughter and her hellbent mission to singlehandedly and irreparably destroy Donald Trump. As I see it, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Unless, of course, Cheney has been a closet Democrat from the outset. (See: Adam Kinzinger.)

The Republican outcast is slated to participate with Slotkin at an event in Michigan on November 1, according to a press release from Slotkin’s campaign, as reported by Blaze Media.

I’m proud to endorse Elissa Slotkin. Serving together on the Armed Services Committee, I have come to know Elissa as a good and honorable public servant who works hard for the people she represents, wants what’s best for the country, and is in this for the right reasons.

While Elissa and I have our policy disagreements, at a time when our nation is facing threats at home and abroad, we need serious, responsible, substantive members like Elissa in Congress. I encourage all voters in the 7th district — Republicans, Democrats, and Independents – to support her in this election.

Slotkin welcomed Cheney’s endorsement, while also pointing out that they don’t agree on every issue.

Liz Cheney & I certainly don’t agree on every issue, but at a moment when the heart of our democracy is being challenged, her voice & leadership have been indispensable. Looking forward to welcoming her to #MI07 next week.

Yo, Elissa — give Lizzie a month or two and she’ll be in lockstep with you and the rest of your party.

Slotkin also said:

Rep. Cheney has shown tremendous leadership over the last two years, and while we certainly don’t agree on every issue, I look forward to welcoming her to Michigan’s 7th district next week to discuss the points where all Americans can leave politics aside and put our country above all else.

Okay, the BFF thingy is established, so who’s Elissa Slotkin, and what’s she all about? — asked the non-Michigander.

She previously served as a Central Intelligence Agency analyst and Department of Defense official, and also served in national security roles at the White House under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Slotkin’s entire resume is impressive but her positions on many key issues, not so much:

Let’s start with on-demand abortion, which is easy: Slotkin is rated at 100 percent by the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. ‘Nuff said.

Slotkin doesn’t support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct. (See: “guilty until proven innocent”)

She supports increased federal spending as a means of “promoting economic growth” (see: “Bidenomics”), government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geothermal, et al.), and gun-grabber legislation.

Slotkin doesn’t support the “Remain in Mexico” policy for illegal aliens; she voted to establish a commission to investigate the January 6 Capitol riot; favors admitting Washinton, D.C., as a state, and here’s the huge bottom line: Slotkin has voted in line with Biden‘s stated positions 100 percent of the time.

Oh, one other thing: I’m sure Slotkin loathes Trump almost as much as Liz Cheney does.
