Freudian Slip? Gaffe Queen Kamala Harris Says US Must 'Reduce Population' to Improve Air Quality

During a recent conversation with a friend, who’s also an award-winning political cartoonist, I suggested that the two of us work in a target-rich environment. His description was much better: “I have the best gag writers in the business working for me— free!” Bingo.

And at or near the top of the list is Kamala Harris.

Harris, a mere heartbeat away from what used to be the most powerful office in the world, made a very unfortunate gaffe (for Kamala, and her climate alarmist pals, that is) while promoting Joe Biden‘s $20 billion green energy agenda, which is part of the massive $1.2 trillion taxpayer-funded, laughably named, 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.

When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water.

Oops. So here’s the question: Was Madam Vice President’s misstep a mere gaffe — or a Freudian slip?

Here’s the thing: various climate-alarmist scientists and like-minded organizations have called for population control as part of an overall effort to reduce the effects of anthropomorphic (human-caused) climate change for a number of years.

An October 2022 article from Hopkins-Bloomberg Public Health asked the question: “Is Population Control a Climate Change Solution?”

The question is not only chilling; the conflation of “population control” and “solution” evokes dark times in history when the radical ideology of people in power over those with no power didn’t turn out well for either group — particularly the latter.

While it’s not my intent is not to write in hyperbolic terms, it is to suggest that, as the above article points out, “a proposal to solve climate change by reducing fertility violates the tenets of reproductive justice and sparks tough ethical questions,” although I’d go with reproductive “rights” vs. “justice,” given the left’s intentional misuse of the latter.

Anyway, Harris added:

The climate crisis impacts everybody, but it does not impact all communities equally. Poor communities, rural communities, native communities and communities of color are often the hardest hit and the least able to recover.

Ah, yes. We mustn’t forget that climate change is also racist.

The left’s previous go-to term was “global warming,” of course, but when the globe refused to warm — in direct contradiction to the climate alarmists’ multitudinous apocalyptic warnings of “the existential threat to mankind” — the alarmists switched to “climate change,” which afforded the opportunity to also exploit cold weather, blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, floods, and any other kind of weather or weather cycle of their choosing.

Incidentally, the Biden administration later “clarified” that Harris misspoke and had intended to say “pollution,” rather than “population,” by referencing the official speech transcript posted on the White House website.

Hey, gaffes happen. And so do Freudian slips.

Before we wrap this one up, I must toss in my favorite example of this week’s “Stupid S**t Kamala Harris Says.” As my colleague Bob Hoge reported in an article titled The Jokes Write Themselves When Kamala Harris Tries to Explain Artificial Intelligence, Harris explained to a group of labor and civil rights leaders on Wednesday what the acronym “AI” stands for.

I think the first part of this issue that should be articulated is AI is kind of a fancy thing. First of all, it’s two letters. It means artificial intelligence, but ultimately what it is, is it’s about machine learning.

Yes, America, on Planet Kamala, the two-letter acronym “AI” is a “fancy thing.”

Incidentally, Kamala didn’t say whether or not she finds “AI” as fancy as she finds Venn diagrams.

Can’t make it up, don’t have to.

We now return you to what passes as normal news in Joe Biden’s America.
