Michelle Obama Rakes in Nearly $750K for 'Importance of Inclusivity and Diversity' Speech

As we reported earlier in September, Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz recently said in his "Verdict with Ted Cruz" podcast that he believes former First Lady Michelle Obama will be "parachuted in" by the Democrat Party to replace mumbling, bumbling 80-year-old Joe Biden as the party's 2024 presidential nominee.

Now, far be it from me to disagree with Ted Cruz, but I'm among those who believe there's no way in hell that Mrs. Obama would be willing to give up her extravagant lifestyle, much less her ability to easily rake in tons of cash for simply being Michelle Obama. The most recent case in point follows.

The 59-year-old former First Lady reportedly collected $741,000 for a one-hour speech in Munich, Germany, on Monday, in which she talked about an issue near and dear to her heart: the importance of "inclusivity and diversity."

Speaking at an event on the sidelines of the annual Oktoberfest beer festival, according to the event's website, the Harvard Law School graduate was scheduled to speak to roughly 5,000 attendees about how to "push past self-doubt" — as part of her inclusivity and diversity" narrative.

Incidentally, the whole "self-doubt" schtick isn't new to Michelle Obama; she's played the card in the past.

The Bits & Pretzels conference is set over three days and principally features speakers from international companies who tell their respective success stories — and then there's Michelle Obama's story.

As far as I can tell, Michelle Obama's biggest success to date has been her marriage to the 44th president of the United States — and the immense wealth that has flowed their way as a result of his presidency.

One person close to the team behind the conference gushed over Obama's guest speech:

They really pulled out all the stops to get her. It's one of the highest fees that they have ever paid.

Swell, huh?

Barack and Michelle Obama are reportedly worth at least $70 million, according to The International Business Times, but The New York Post estimates their fortune at an astonishing $135 million.

Listen, I don't begrudge the Obamas for their astronomical wealth — not in the least.

If the market is willing to pay Michelle Obama nearly three-quarters of a million dollars to flap her gums for an hour, so be it. Then again, one wonders how much of the Obamas' massive wealth constitutes a "fair share" to be redistributed to the less fortunate among us — perhaps beginning in their old stomping grounds, Chicago's notoriously crime-riddled South Side.

So, let's get back to Cruz's prediction for a minute.

Here's the scenario that I think is perhaps most likely, and most dangerous. In August of 2024, the Democrat kingmakers jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama.

While we should never underestimate the arrogance and self-righteousness of either Obama, I just don't see either of them wanting or willing to reoccupy the White House. Although, Barack as "First Gentleman" would surely spawn a never-ending stream of memes and hilarious jokes.

Besides, with the former president still the darling of the Democrat Party and pulling the strings behind the scenes, the Obamas can have their proverbial cake and eat it too, in the luxury of their multimillion-dollar estate on Martha's Vineyard — as they continue to rake in the cash.

Not a bad gig if you can get it.
