Border Patrol Nabs Record Number of Illegals With Terrorist Ties at Southern Border

Among the multiple failures of the most disastrous administration in at least modern history, the Biden Border Crisis™ has been the runaway winner — so far, at least.

Despite his serial-lying administration's protestations to the contrary, Joe Biden intentionally flung open the border on his first day in office and has never looked back. And he will continue to import as many illegal aliens — future Democrat voters, as the Dems believe — as he can get away with.

But here's the thing.

Illegal aliens streaming into the country is one thing. Illegal aliens with terrorist ties steaming into the country represent not only a whole different ballgame; it's potentially a deadly game that could make 9/11 look like the work of amateurs in comparison.

According to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) statistics released on Saturday, border officials arrested 18 people on the FBI’s terrorist watch list in September alone, making fiscal year 2023 a record year for terrorist-related encounters at the southern border.

Moreover, 169 illegals on the watch list were encountered between ports of entry at the border in the past 12 months, exceeding not only the record-setting total (98) of 2022; but the number of encounters also exceeded the last six fiscal years combined.

Yup, Joe did that.

Here's more:

The encounters between ports of entry are eclipsed by those who are encountered at the ports themselves. Overall, there were 564 encounters at ports, just slightly higher than [in] fiscal year 2019, when there were 538.

The watch list, now officially called the Terrorist Screening Dataset, is the U.S. database that contains information on terrorist identities and includes not only known or suspected terrorists but also affiliates of watch-listed individuals.

The CBP says on its website that terrorist-related encounters have reached a "very uncommon" level.

Encounters of watchlisted individuals at our borders are very uncommon, underscoring the critical work CBP Agents and Officers carry out every day on the front lines. DHS works tirelessly to secure our borders through a combination of highly trained personnel, ground and aerial monitoring systems, and robust intelligence and information-sharing networks.

But, hey — not to worry.

Alejandro Mayorkas's agency "works tirelessly to secure our borders." That fatuous claim lies somewhere between obscene and traitorous; serial-lying Mayorkas does anything but.

Speaking of Mayorkas, no-nonsense Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Ark.) fired off a letter to the DHS head, last Wednesday, calling on the embattled secretary to address the dramatic increase in "terrorist-linked aliens" at the border following the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel.

Hawley wrote, in part:

I write with alarm regarding the uptick in potential terrorist-linked illegal aliens encountered at the southern border. This development follows the barbaric attack perpetrated by Hamas terrorists on innocent American and Israeli civilians.

It is imperative that you address this issue immediately to ensure the safety of American citizens, especially Jewish Americans, who are facing increased threats to their physical safety following the Hamas attack.

As you are well aware, the United States has experienced an unprecedented wave of illegal immigration across our southern border during the Biden Administration, totaling 6.2 million illegal alien encounters. This figure includes record numbers of aliens who have been listed on the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB) or traveled from countries known to be state sponsors of terrorism.

In fiscal year 2023, Border Patrol encountered 154 TSDB aliens attempting to cross the border between ports of entry—more than the last six years combined.

Furthermore, it is virtually certain that terrorist-linked individuals are among the estimated 1.6 million illegal aliens who have successfully evaded Border Patrol in entering the United States since President Biden took office.

In addition, Hawley pointedly reminded Mayorkas that his own department "recently published a threat assessment acknowledges this danger."

For example, the assessment notes that “individuals with terrorism connections are interested in using established travel routes and permissive environments to facilitate access to the United States."

Meanwhile, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents are encountering a growing number of “special interest aliens” from countries known to harbor terrorists—including Iran, Syria, and Lebanon.

"Just this week," Hawley continued, "four Iranians were apprehended in Texas by Border Patrol.

The Bottom Line

If it occurs to you that the president of the United States — Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. — appears to believe it's far more important to import as many illegal aliens into this country than to keep as many terrorist-linked illegal aliens the hell out of it, you're far from alone.
