Illinois Gov. Pritzker Sends Snide Letter to Abbott Begging Him to Stop Busing Illegal Aliens to Chicago

As Chicago continues to pay the price for its once-proud "sanctuary city" status — due to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott continuing to ship busloads of illegal aliens to the struggling city — Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has sent a spiteful letter to Abbott, "pleading" with him to "for mercy." And it's nothing but political rhetoric.

Pritzker began the Jan. 12 letter this way:

Governor Abbott:

The ongoing international migration crisis demands a strong, compassionate, and humane response. We agree that our nation needs immigration reform, but you have chosen to sow chaos in an attempt to score political points.

Hold the bus — no pun intended.

First, I don't know about an ongoing international migration crisis, but I do know that Joe Biden pledged throughout the 2020 presidential election campaign that he would all but install northbound people movers along the southern border and hire mariachi bands to welcome illegal aliens as they surged into the country.

Why? Because the Democrat Party believes that illegals — if they ultimately become U.S. citizens — will overwhelmingly vote Democrat.

Second, Gov. Pritzker, if that's not an attempt to score political points, I don't know what is.

Pritzker continued, shifting to trying to guilt Abbott:

You are now sending asylum seekers from Texas to the Upper Midwest in the middle of winter — many without coats, without shoes to protect them from the snow — to a city whose shelters are already overfilled with migrants you sent here.

Chicago's temperatures this weekend are projected to drop below zero. Your callousness, sending buses and planes full of migrants in this weather, is now life-threatening to every one of the arrivals. Hundreds of children's and families' health and survival are at risk due to your actions.

Yeah, no. If the health and survival of illegal aliens are at risk, the responsibility rests with Joe Biden, Governor. As to coats, gloves, adequate footwear, and such, that's your responsibility — given that Chicago is a sanctuary city. Or is Chicago only a sanctuary city during warm-weather months?

Pritzker continued his spiteful rhetoric, accusing Abbott of playing a “political game of exploiting the most vulnerable for the sake of culture wars and talking points.”

You seem to have no interest in working on bipartisan solutions to the border crisis because they would put an end to your cruel political game.

Nonsense. Stop the open-border madness first — then let's seek effective solutions to ensure that this madness stops for good.

The rest of the letter was just more of the same — but the final paragraph was something else.

I plead with you for mercy for the thousands of people who are powerless to speak for themselves. Please, while winter is threatening vulnerable people’s lives, suspend your transports and do not send more people to our state.

Oh, boo-hoo. Transparent political rhetoric, governor, nothing more.

Just one thing, Gov. Pritzker: You should've addressed your letter to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500, Attn: Joe "Open Borders" Biden.

I'm sure Joe would bust out his "humanitarianism" the minute he read your "heartfelt" letter.

The Bottom Line

I suppose it goes without saying, but this was another perfect example of Democrats creating a crisis — in this case, intentionally so — and then attempting to blame it on Republicans.

No biggie — we've long been used to it.
