Survey: Majority of Likely Voters Not Buying Media's 'Cover Up' of Biden's 'Declining Mental Sharpness'

America's once-vaunted mainstream media is stuck between the same rock and a hard place where Joe Biden and the Democrat Party find themselves following the release of the calamitous Hur Report.

The "stuck place" is precarious for the above miscreants for a simple yet complicated reason: If they insist that Biden is sharp as a tack and as energetic as he ever was, they make the point that because the Hur investigation found that he willfully retained classified documents, he should have been indicted.

On the other hand, if they accept the reality that the rest of the planet clearly sees — that Biden is a "sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory" — they would then be forced to agree with the majority of likely voters that Joe Biden has no business being anywhere near the White House.

So what's the obedient lapdog media to do? What it always does when it simps for the Democrat Party: suppress, censor, misrepresent, and outright lie when necessary.

Just one problem.

A majority of likely voters aren't buying the media's attempt to cover up Joe Biden's steadily declining cognitive capacity, according to a recent Rasmussen survey. Even worse, the survey was conducted before the Hur Report was released. Among the survey's findings (emphasis, mine):

61% of U.S. likely voters say it’s at least “somewhat” likely that the “news media are helping cover up evidence of President Biden’s declining mental sharpness.”
Nearly half (45%) of voters say it's “very likely” there’s a media cover-up of the president’s mental decline.
In another question, 59% say Biden is getting less and less mentally sharp over time. A third (33%) think he’s not, while 8% aren’t sure.
Of those who think Biden’s mental state is getting worse, 89% say the media is covering up his decline. Fully 70% say it’s “very likely” the media are engaged in a cover-up of evidence that Biden’s mind is failing.

The above findings are particularly damning for Biden and the Democrat Party because we're no longer talking about only Republicans and other Biden critics who are openly calling this president no longer cognitively capable of carrying out the duties of the president of the United States.

We're not only seeing independent voters saying it's time for Joe to go; a growing number of Democrats — including Democrat lawmakers — are now actively calling on the mentally diminished 81-year-old president to step aside —or a least submit to a comprehensive cognitive test.

Just one more problem.

As my colleague Ben Kew reported on Sunday, Biden campaign chief Mitch Landrieu told Meet the Press that the besieged president is "never, ever going to quit."

But fret not, my Democrat friends. As I reported on Saturday, HBO's Realtime with Bill Maher admitted on Friday that "Ruth Bader Biden" can easily be dropped at the Democrat National Convention in August.
