Julian Assange has been hiding from the law in the Ecuadorean embassy in London for years now. But only now has he been entirely cut off from the Internet!

What happened? Some vast CIA-driven conspiracy, as he and his supporters often claim? Nope, It’s much simpler than that. Ecuador is sick of him abusing their hospitality and embarrassing them.

When Assange first entered the embassy, Ecuador’s President was the popular, left-wing Rafael Correa. But having been termed out of office, in 2017 his vice president, Lenin Moreno, was elected President. Moreno is not nearly as popular, having only won 51-49, with his party losing 26 seats in the 2017 National Assembly election.

Moreno does not have the luxury of putting up with Assange embarrassing and undermining his government with his insane public statements. Assange has been warned, he ignored the warnings, and now he’s grounded!
