Be very very fearful.
President Donald Trump’s presidency is in real trouble now.
Hollywood actors have set their sights on trying to help him get impeached.
What do Hollywood actors have to do with an impeachment process? Well, absolutely nothing.
But, shhh, no one tell them. Hey, if House Democrats can’t even get it right and don’t know that a real impeachment inquiry starts with a formal vote by the full House, then how can we expect these folks to have any idea?
Their announcement has doubtless left President Trump literally shaking.
The effort is really something formed by the “Democratic Coalition,” an organization whose sole purpose seems to be to try to get Trump out of office. The goal of the task force? To hold Trump “accountable for his betrayal of America,” according to Townhall.
Of course they can’t explain what that “betrayal” is with any kind of cogent facts that actually qualify for an impeachable offense. But let not reality enter into all this.
The 100 or so celebrities behind the effort include well-known resisters to reality such as Rosie O’Donnell, Tom Arnold, Ron Perlman, Alyssa Milano, George Takei and Ron Perlman. There are other ‘celebrities’ involved too, apart from actors, including former Mayor Andrew Gillum and Martina Navratilova.
Their plan? To spread hashtags to promote impeachment information, “combat disinformation” and – wait for it – have people write letters to Congress and call. Are you impressed yet?
According to Newsweek, the group has already started meeting and they are set to launch their website this week and will begin fundraising. Ah, so there’s the rub. Just exactly how would giving any money to them actually manage to get Trump impeached? Well, of course, it wouldn’t. And it’s not exactly clear why you would need money to push hashtags.
Doubtless they would say it would help inform people.
Let’s be real. People pretty much know where they stand at this point on Trump. But even if anyone wasn’t clear, it’s really unlikely that the sage words of Alyssa Milano are going to sway them.
