We’ve been talking about members of the House in Trump districts who may be hesitant to vote for impeachment.

But those aren’t the only folks who may be hesitant.

Some more moderate Democrats or just those who think this is the wrong approach have been talking about censure rather than impeachment for awhile.

According to ABC News, one of those members, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), announced she still hadn’t made up her mind on the eve of possible impeachment, that she was looking at censure and may be planning on introducing a censure resolution ahead of the vote on impeachment.

“I’m taking this time for myself to be able to review everything that’s happened all the information that’s been put forward,” Gabbard told a crowd at Furman University in Greenville, S.C. on Monday. “And just all the factors that go into really trying to figure out what what is the best action to take for our country. And for democracy. It’s not a simple or easy decision to make.”

In October, Gabbard criticized the push toward impeachment saying that “Trump won his election, and as unhappy as that may make us as Democrats, he won that election in 2016,” that “[Impeachment] will only further divide an already terribly divided country.”

There is a group of Democrats who had previously expressed interest in censure as a possible out, according to the Daily Caller.

Around 10 Democratic members of Congress, including New Jersey Rep. Josh Gottheimer, Oregon Rep. Kurt Schrader, New York Rep. Anthony Brindisi, and Utah Rep. Ben McAdams, are all reportedly open to a censure resolution of Trump instead of moving forward with impeachment, according to Politico.

If she does it, that’s not going to make Pelosi happy

That will certainly put a crimp in the Democrats effort. Now, as a practical matter, the leadership could try to block it off and not allow such a move to come to a vote and undercut the impeachment vote. But the effort would show that they don’t have everyone in the tent, and may get more “no” votes on impeachment.
