When it comes to the question of illegal immigration, now that Joe Biden is running for the presidential nomination, everything that he and Barack Obama did on the subject has gone down the memory hole in his mind.

Take this for example:

Wait, what? No, you did that Joe. Barack Obama and you literally built the “cages,” which are really holding areas where illegal aliens are placed when they are first picked up before they are moved elsewhere. There are literally dozens of pictures of these “cages” from 2014. Indeed, Michael Bloomberg ran a couple, trying to attack Trump with them, despite the fact they were from 2014.

Of course, it didn’t get the media attention it did under Trump — because Obama.

So when Biden was interviewed by Univision’s Jorge Ramos, he tried that pitch on him, as though he, Biden, had nothing at all to do with it, but Ramos wasn’t for buying it and busted him on it.

From Townhall

“At the debate in Houston, you said that the Obama-Biden administration, and I quote, ‘We didn’t lock people in cages.’ But you actually did,” Ramos said. “Not at the same numbers as the Trump administration, but you did.”

The journalist pulled out a picture of an 8-year-old boy from Honduras and showed it to Biden. The former veep looked at the picture.

“Yes,” Biden replied, before realizing the admission he made. “Wait. Wait. Wait. This was–”

“This was in 2014 at a detention center in McAllen, Texas,” Ramos replied. “I spoke with the photographer.”

Biden then tried to argue the children were “unaccompanied” and that they “tried to get them out into the communities as quickly as we can.”

But Ramos persisted saying that many people would call the holding areas “cages,” which again agitated Biden, angrily saying, “You know you’re not telling the truth here about the comparison of the two things.”

Ramos tried to mollify Biden a little saying the numbers are not the same as we’re seeing right now with the Trump administration. He’s right, they’re less now, because the Trump administration has actually successfully dropped the huge influx that had been flooding in since the Obama administration for the past eight months because of the Trump administration’s successful immigration policies and the deal with Mexico.

“Beyond that, look how quickly we got them back to families. Look, we didn’t engage and we sought the relatives here. We sought to get them in safe communities. We sought to get them out of the control of Homeland Security, to get them safe” the former veep explained. “But they came unaccompanied. Unaccompanied.”

That’s literally everything the Trump administration did. Except they did a better job than the Obama administration. As far as we know, they didn’t turn over kids to human traffickers like Obama did.

The former vice president seems to have forgotten that a Senate report found that “an unknown number of Central American migrant children [were placed} into the custody of human traffickers after neglecting to run the most basic checks on these so-called ‘caregivers'” during the Obama administration, the Intelligencer reported.

The Trump administration improved DNA and ID checks to stop that problem. Yet Biden and the media rip Trump and largely ignored the issues under Obama.

Biden then claimed that he worked on sending $750 million to Central American companies to help alleviate the situations that made them come in the first place.

But, as Ramos noted, that wasn’t true, “they kept coming,” he said.

Biden again insisted that they had “dropped off extensively,” which wasn’t true.

The flow continued, to a greater or lesser extent until Trump brought it down through the Mexico deal and other immigration policies, and it’s been far less for about eight months.
