Democrats have been flipping out, trying to claim that President Donald Trump is improperly inserting himself into DOJ cases, such as the sentencing matter related to Roger Stone.

While Trump did tweet about the case, as Attorney General William Barr has noted, Barr had already pulled back the initial sentence recommendation as excessive and was not influenced by the tweet in any way. Barr has also said definitively that Trump has never inserted himself into any DOJ case to Barr.

But, of course, that wouldn’t stop the Democrats from defaming Trump and Barr on the matter.

We noted that the President really shouldn’t be commenting about ongoing investigations or cases.

But we also noted that, while the media was upset with Trump’s remarks, Barack Obama had actually inserted himself into ongoing cases/investigations, not just commenting on the unfairness of a sentence. You may recall him declaring Hillary Clinton basically innocent, saying she didn’t compromise national security in the middle of the email investigation. The FBI was furious that he was commenting on her guilt or innocence. And, of course, how would he know whether or not Clinton had “compromised national security” (unless he was inserting himself improperly into the case).

Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz told Sirius FM that presidents have inserted themselves into DOJ matters in the past, even though they should not, he said. He spoke of the Kennedy administration, where, of course, the Attorney General was Robert Kennedy, the brother of the president. But then he dropped some very interesting information about Barack Obama.

From Daily Wire:

“There was a lot of White House control of the Justice Department during the Kennedy administration and I don’t think we saw very many liberal professors arguing against that,” Dershowitz told Breitbart News. “I have some information as well about the Obama administration – which will be disclosed in a lawsuit at some point, but I’m not prepared to disclose it now – about how President Obama personally asked the FBI to investigate somebody on behalf of George Soros, who was a close ally of his.”

“We’ve seen this kind of White House influence on the Justice Department virtually in every Justice Department,” Dershowitz continued. “The difference this president is much more overt about it, he tweets about it. President Obama whispered to the Justice Department about it.”

Dershowitz was then pressed about what he was talking about in regard to Obama and Soros but he said he wasn’t quite ready to go there because he hadn’t filed the case yet, he said it was going to come out in a lawsuit in the future. Dershowitz said he had the 302 form “which documents this issue” and that it would come out at the right time.

A 302 form refers to the forms the FBI uses when they interview witnesses in a case.

Break out the popcorn.

That’s a pretty intriguing tease, please tell us more…
