How is Joe Biden going to make it through the debate?

That’s been the big question on the mind of everyone who has been observing his decline over the past several months.

Now, while people have been saying he’s going to get destroyed during the debate, I’ve been saying that people should not assume anything.

Why? Because whatever he says, however he does, is going to be spun to look better by the mainstream media. And if he manages to stay on his feet and not fall over, they’re going to say, “See, see, the right has been exaggerating his decline.” Just ignore what you’ve been seeing with your own eyes every day for months.

One would also have to assume they’re going to do everything they can to have him in the best shape he can possibly be in. Plus — it’s just 90 minutes. He’s refused to even respond to the challenge of a four-hour debate moderated by Joe Rogan which had been proposed and to which the President agreed. He’d have real trouble making it through a four-hour debate.

Sounds like the Trump team has been thinking about what they might do to get Biden up to speed for the debates as well.

On Sunday, Trump called for a drug test for the debate, saying he would agree to take one as well.

“I will be strongly demanding a Drug Test of Sleepy Joe Biden prior to, or after, the Debate on Tuesday night,” Trump wrote. “Naturally, I will agree to take one also. His Debate performances have been record setting UNEVEN, to put it mildly. Only drugs could have caused this discrepancy???”

So, what did the Biden team do? Did they agree? Nope. Classic Biden move, they deflected while accusing Trump of deflecting.

Biden’s deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield responded to Trump’s comments, disparaging the president and accusing him of trying to deflect from the coronavirus pandemic.

“Vice President Biden intends to deliver his debate answers in words. If the president thinks his best case is made in urine he can have at it,” she wrote. “We’d expect nothing less from Donald Trump, who pissed away the chance to protect the lives of 200K Americans when he didn’t make a plan to stop COVID-19.”

Now that’s some spin.

Trump responded today, “Joe Biden just announced that he will not agree to a Drug Test. Gee, I wonder why?”

It’s funny that any time Joe gets a tough question that he can’t deal with, he always deflects to Trump as he does here, rather than provide a response. Every single time. So what’s so tough about the question of a drug test?

Biden’s been caught apparently getting assistance from a teleprompter, even being so out of it that he’s read the instructions on the teleprompter.

It will be interesting to see how he does and then how media will do its best to spin for him.

Tuesday is the first debate. Chris Wallace is moderating and they’ve already announced the topics that would be covered, giving the candidates some time to prepare which will help Biden. The topics include the Supreme Court battle, the coronavirus pandemic response, the economy, and civil unrest.
