Joe Biden seems to have been doing all he could to avoid questions on Afghanistan.
First, he was on vacation for days, not answering anything, not even responding to calls from Boris Johnson as Afghanistan was falling, as to what was going on. This is unconscionable. Talk about a 3 a.m. call. He couldn’t even take a daytime call – for two days. What do you call avoiding a call for almost two days? Impeachable.
He came back from Camp David on Monday, gave an angry speech about Afghanistan, then took no questions, turned on his heel, and headed back to Camp David.
Then he came back, gave completely incongruous remarks about COVID yesterday that no one cared about and again took no questions. He probably thought he could change the subject. Fat chance.
But the backlash was so much, I think it was Biden who decided to talk to George Stephanopoulos yesterday, convinced that he was right and could explain that to people, not realizing how delusional he was.
But after the epic fail of that interview, he or his handlers cleared his calendar of any public remarks for today.
The president took all public remarks, press briefings and press conferences off his schedule as he and his administration deal with the blowback from their botched troop withdrawal that saw Kabul fall into the hands of the Taliban.
Biden’s now-clear press schedule also comes after his much-criticized ABC News interview on Wednesday night, when the president claimed there was no better way to get out of Afghanistan. Other than the ABC News interview, Biden has not taken any questions from the press this week.
As my colleague Sister Toldjah observed, even the media is now beginning to call out Biden’s behavior in this regard.
Now today, he called a lid at 3:36 today. Not like there’s any pressing business or anything.

We previously reported he would be heading back to Delaware. Previous FAA alerts had indicated that he would be leaving out for Delaware again today.
President Biden, who has spent the last few days traveling between the White House and Camp David, is scheduled to head to Delaware for a long weekend.

But updated information indicates that he pushed that back to tomorrow. The updated FAA flight information reveals that VIP travel around Wilmington, Delaware would run from Friday at 5:30 p.m. Eastern to 1:30 p.m. Eastern on Monday, August 23.

So Biden is still planning on that long weekend as thousands of Americans are still trapped in Afghanistan.
He gave a speech on Monday and went back on vacation. Gave a speech yesterday and now will be heading out back to vacation. He had a “non-public day” today.
