We’ve been wondering what has been going on with the investigation into Hunter Biden that has been going on for four years now.

With everything that is readily apparent from the evidence on the laptop, what is the hold-up?

Fox News is now reporting that the investigation has hit a “critical stage” — that Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss was considering charging Hunter Biden after the grand jury concluded its most recent term last month, but hasn’t made the decision yet.

The source told Fox News on Wednesday that Weiss and Justice Department officials were looking into whether to charge Hunter Biden with various tax violations and, more seriously, possible foreign lobbying violations. The source said Hunter Biden could face possible false statements charges.

But the source said no final decision has been made on whether to charge Hunter Biden, and stressed that the investigation is ongoing.

Fox News first reported in December 2020 that Hunter Biden was a subject/target of the grand jury investigation, according to a well-placed government source. According to the source, a “target” means that there is a “high probability that person committed a crime,” while a “subject” is someone you “don’t know for sure” has committed a crime.”

The federal investigation into Hunter Biden was predicated, in part, by Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) regarding suspicious foreign transactions.

Another source familiar with the investigation told Fox News in December 2020 that the SARs were regarding funds from “China and other foreign nations.”

Even CNN is reporting on it, which may be another indication that we’re approaching critical mass in the case as CNN generally tries to avoid Hunter Biden stories if they can at all do so. CNN notes that the false statements may include lying on that form to get a gun on which we have previously reported.

CNN suggested that they were whittling it down to the tax charges and the gun. If that’s the case, that might give Joe Biden an out if it doesn’t get into the foreign lobbying — and that would be a concern.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) has voiced concern that they might work out a plea agreement with Hunter Biden that might shut down any further look into what had happened with the foreign connections or Joe Biden. As we reported earlier this week, there were more connections that were revealed between Joe Biden and Hunter’s business associates. This was in addition to the concerning remarks Hunter had made about his Russia and China connections. There’s a lot there connecting Joe, but will they get to that? We’ll have to wait and see. I’ll believe it when I see it.
