Rashida Tlaib Doubles Down With a Train Wreck of Statement About Israeli Political Prisoners

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has come under fire for antisemitic statements in the past. But since the war started between Israel and Hamas, after Hamas attacked and slaughtered more than 1200 people, she and some of her Squad companions seem to have gone into overdrive with the radical statements.

The latest official statement is earning a lot of justifiable criticism as it's just a train wreck of moral equivalency between Hamas terrorists and Israel when there is no such equivalence. The focus of the statement isn't on freeing American hostages as one might think it should be but on attacking Israel and claiming they're holding "political prisoners," claiming they kidnap children, when it's Hamas holding children they kidnapped right now.

Here's the full statement:

"Every innocent civilian should be released and reunited with their family, no matter their faith or ethnicity. I will continue to call for the release of all hostages, as well as the innocent Palestinians who were arbitrarily detained and being held by the Israeli government indefinitely without charge or trial. "On average, 500-700 children are detained by Israeli forces every year. Palestinian children are often abducted from their homes and then subjected under

Israeli apartheid to a separate military judicial system. The mistreatment of children is widespread and systematic. According to Israel's largest human rights organization B'Tselem, prior to October 7, the Israeli government was holding 1,310 Palestinian civilians in "administrative detention"-without charge, trial, or access to an attorney. That number has increased rapidly since the outbreak of this violence.

"I support the release of Israeli civilians and ask my colleagues to demand the same for Palestinian civilians being held by Israeli forces without charge or trial. Their failure to do so demonstrates their refusal to view Palestinians as equal human beings who deserve the same rights, freedom, and human dignity."

You can't clean up such a despicable statement like that by just making a couple of mentions of Israeli civilians. Arbitrarily detained? The people being released by Israel now include people convicted of things like stabbing police officers and attempted bombings. Versus babies that Hams kidnapped and wouldn't give back like ten-month-old Kfir Bibas and his four-year-old brother Ariel. In no way can they be compared. Hamas is so vile they even gave the Bibas brothers to another terrorist group. You don't move babies around like protective bargaining chips and pretend like you're in the right.

Tlaib's statement did not go over well.

The woman on the right was convicted of attempted battery with aggravated intent for blowing up a gas canister in her car and wounding a police officer. Her facial wounds are from that incident. The baby on the left was kidnapped after her parents were slaughtered by Hamas.

It is not the same.
