Joe Biden is going to the border again Thursday for only the second visit in his life.

Why is he finally getting around to it now?
It isn't too hard to figure out -- we're in the election season and he knows that it's one of the most important issues and that most Americans think he's done a horrible job protecting the border. After three years of letting the chaos run wild, Biden is finally trying to act like he cares while blaming the Republicans for all the problems he created.
However, another reason that Biden is going is that former President Donald Trump is going.
Border security has consistently polled as a top priority among Texans, and Republican-led policies led by Gov. Greg Abbott to place barriers like concertina wire and buoys in the Rio Grande have proven popular among voters.
Trump’s campaign derided Biden’s visit as “chasing us to the border”. A campaign spokesperson said the trip “shows just how big of a problem this is for him.”
On Thursday, Biden will be going to Brownsville, while Trump will visit Eagle Pass. Trump's trip was announced last week; Biden's was just announced on Monday.
Biden is once again going to call for the passage of the horrible border bill he wants. Republicans don't support it because they don't think it helps border security, that indeed it only makes things worse. They contend that it basically codifies letting in thousands of people a day.
A local reporter referred to his prior visit as a "dog and pony show" and it looks like this will be a similar effort, just so he can check the box and say, "I care."

Considering that Biden hasn't enforced the law to stem the tide thus far, this doesn't mean much. If he can sign an executive order now to help the situation, why hasn't he done so in the past? Why has he pretended that he needs more laws passed? It just proves that he's always had the ability. But instead, Biden took actions right at the beginning of his term to make the situation worse.
The Border Patrol Union completely did in Biden's propaganda, pointing out exactly who is to blame for the crisis.

That's exactly on target -- it's only about seeing who he can hoodwink to help him in the election. It's the same reason he finally got around to going to East Palestine, Ohio.
But his policies have failed and they've had a very harmful cost to the people of this country. You can never bring back Laken Riley, the young nursing student who was allegedly murdered by an illegal alien last Thursday.
