FBI Director Kash Patel has been having a fun day nuking Democrats during his grilling by the Senate Judiciary Committee during the annual FBI oversight hearing.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) had a serious meltdown attacking Patel. But Patel brought the receipts — the positive changes that he has brought to the FBI. He also took down Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) as well.

But he had another exchange of note: his response to Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL). Durbin tried to make something about an unsigned memo. "Why was this July 7th memorandum unsigned?" Durbin asked.
Patel just did him in with his response, then indicated why his inquiry was silly.

Kash Patel IMMEDIATELY fired back: “Would you have preferred I used autopen?!" pic.twitter.com/t9SdUaXi8L
"Would you have preferred I used an autopen?" Patel snarked in reply, raising the issue of the Biden autopen scandal that the Democrats would rather forget and ignore. He then said it had the insignia of the Department of Justice and the FBI. So what more did it need? He's not denying it's an official memo.
Point +1 Patel.
This wasn't about finding out any truths for Durbin. Let's recall how Durbin stonewalled efforts by Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) to get the unredacted Epstein flight logs, even claiming he'd never been asked about them, despite Blackburn requesting a subpoena for them on the record.

Patel also shut down Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) when he tried to suggest that Patel was firing people at the FBI at the behest of President Donald Trump and the White House. Patel said if he had been doing things improperly, he wouldn't have the historic success they'd managed in his first seven months.
🔥HOLY SMOKES: Kash Patel just COMPLETELY shut down Dick Blumenthal for blatantly putting words into Director Patel's mouth.

Senator Blumenthal gets so embarrassed that he has to sheepishly move on.
This is a PERFECT example of how to shut down Democrat lies. pic.twitter.com/Sg9l6XQxBQ
"The only way people get terminated at the FBI is if they fail to meet the muster of the job and their duties," Patel responded. He said, obviously, they talked about how many personnel are needed during the budget process. He emphasized that it was for "budgetary purposes."
Blumenthal asked if he was told to fire anyone because they participated in investigations of President Donald Trump. Patel replied, "I don't receive directions to do that." He said he makes his own decisions as to who to fire.
Blumenthal then tried to put words in his mouth and claimed he confirmed that he'd taken direction from the White House about who to fire. Patel lit him up on that, saying that's not his testimony.
Looks like Patel broke him; that Blumenthal gave up when he was not successful, "Let's move on."
Maybe Blumenthal and the other Democrats should be more curious about the bombshell dropped by Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley (R-IA) about the alleged FBI targeting of Republican organizations, including Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA. But I'm guessing they don't want to pursue that.
