Andrea Mitchell Suggests How Andrew McCabe Can Save His Pension; Dem. Rep. Follows Through

When Deputy Director of the F.B.I. Andrew McCabe was fired on Friday over issues of candor, he was a scant two days shy of earning his full pension as a federal employee.

The details of McCabe’s firing have yet to be made public, but those sympathetic to anyone who is even seen to be mildly against Pres. Trump has the support of many. McCabe’s firing just short of full retirement had many crying foul and lamenting the fact that a decades-long civil “servant” would be denied his promised pension.

NBC journalist, Andrea Mitchell, did one better and offered up a suggestion for how someone in Congress could help McCabe.

Mitchell tweeted Friday night:

“One suggestion from a McCabe supporter: if a friendly member of Congress hired him for a week he could possibly qualify for pension benefits by extending his service the extra days.”

Uh, yeah. That’s not subtle at all. It’s unclear if Mitchell is referring to herself as the McCabe supporter or she’s paraphrasing someone else.

Regardless, one Democratic congressman, Rep. Mark Pocan of Wisconsin, did exactly that.

Pocan followed up the offer with a tweet:

“Andrew call me. I could use a good two-day report on the biggest crime families in Washington, D.C.”

McCabe will likely earn his full retirement one way or another. In the meantime, this thread on Twitter from a former F.B.I. agent explains just how important candor is when working for the agency:
