Elliott Broidy, the GOP fundraiser who reportedly utilized the services of Donald Trump’s personal attorney in 2017 to negotiate a $1.6 million settlement due to claims he impregnated her, has resigned from his position as for the Republican National Committee.

Broidy, a 62-year-old Los Angeles-based investor, is an influential figure in Republican politics who has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to GOP candidates and committees over the years.

He played a key role in helping Trump raise money ahead of the 2016 election.

The issue likely came to light after Cohen’s offices, home, and hotel room were raided by F.B.I. investigators earlier this week.

Cohen himself remains in his capacity on the RNC finance committee.
