Quai James found himself in a firestorm of online fury after a video was posted of him making fun of a little Jewish boy’s traditional payot or sidelocks. The little boy, who looks to be about 6, face dropped as James asked why he let “them” cut his hair that way and he’d be embarrassed if his hair looked like the boys.

It was truly heartbreaking and infuriating to watch.

But this story thankfully doesn’t end there. James took to social media once again to issue one of the most sincere admissions of wrongdoing and heartfelt apologies that is a remarkable example for everyone.

“I sincerely want to apologize to that young boy and his family,” James began before saying he realizes how immature it was of him.

“That was probably one of the most immature things I’ve ever recorded or posted online.”

He also went on to say he didn’t want “this to be a race thing.” Explaining he has nothing against Jewish people and has had Jewish friends his entire life, and said he understands the discrimination Jews often endure.

James displays the regret any normal person knows when we’ve hurt someone because we weren’t thinking about how a joke could be hurtful saying he thinks about what he did every day.

“I’m sorry. I’m truly sorry,” he said.

It’s also encouraging and admirable that James has truly learned from the experience as he talks about the video making him look to the outside world as someone he’s not and doesn’t want to be.

All in all, it’s an example of an honest and sincere apology that engenders forgiveness.
